I can't get one single can open with this contraption. I too end up using my handheld can opener.
The blade is off by millimeters so when you try to puncture the can, you can't. The blade ends up on the side and all it does is wurr. No can opening, nothing. This is not a good buy.

I got this as a wedding gift and it is more of a hassle than anything else. The cans slip off more often than not, and I usually end of using a hand held can opener. This is just something cute for a red kitchen...

The can opener works okay, but is a little difficult to align the can in just the right position the first few times you use it.
