Purchased this product from Amazon when it was introduced and no reviews had been written then. Been using the washer for about 3 months now and generally very pleased. Unsure about the other negative reviews but fortunately, I had no such experience. The washer arrived in good condition in the original box. Took less than 5 minutes to figure out the parts and assemble it. The supply side connector is a standard garden hose quick-connect type adaptor. Very convenient as I use the same garden hose for sprayers, etc. The pressure washer is a lot quieter than others I have used. The unit completely shuts off when not in use, preserving the life of the motor. Pressure output is consistent, but just bear in mind that this is a 1000 psi unit so don't expect paint-stripping power like the 1500-3000 psi units. Parts appear to be put together pretty well and general quality is good. "Touch and feel" aspects of switches, connections and general appearance is consistent with a quality B&D product. I have used mine for 30-90 mins each time, cleaning driveway, patio, walkways and cars. No issue with switches breaking, motor burnouts, etc thus far. Unit is very lightweight and easy to move around. Handle well designed and bottom-heavy design makes unit fairly stable. Only downside I would mention is the pressure output. It is a low-end unit and not the most powerful. If you need serious cleaning power, I would recommend going with a higher psi output unit.

We live in Florida. You going to live in Florida, you are going to have mold. I don't like mold threfore if this product got rid of mold and assorted other mess it was worth the time and trouble.Received the remanufactured product in record time. Took an afternoon to get the hang of it and ten minutes to learn that you aint gonna come bewtween us. It's sensational! It takes some learning and you should use the instruction manual. But once it starts to do its thing it's almost like it's on cruise control. It's one of those products that delivers what it promises........CTP

This product is poorly made and I would not recommend to anyone. The motor overheats frequently and the unit will not run for several hours. The threaded fittings for the water supply side of the pressure washer are made of plastic and leak.

We did not need a high pressure, pressure washer. The product work well and meets our needs. If you are looking to use it for heavy duty projects, I'd suggest getting a different model.

Junk review- read before you buy.,
This review is from: Black & Decker 1,050 PSI Electric Pressure Washer PW1300 (Lawn & Patio)
When I received the box from UPS I was surprised that the washer was shipped in the box from Black and Decker and without any other box to protect the shippment from Amazon. My washer looked fine but when I put it together nothing worked. The motor would not start. I noticed that the "ON" button was broken and then pieces just fell out after the button fell off! So would this have happened if better shipping packing had occured - I do not know. But I asked for a refund. It took to long and was to much work trying to get the darn thing back in the box.

I bought this washer with the full knowledge that it was, by comparison, lower pressure and lower capacity. I wanted it to wash my car, truck and RV and maybe exterior house walls. I also wanted it to easily carried and stored. I didn't want one with excessively high pressure as I was afraid it might strip the decals off the 5th wheel RV.It has proven to be just what I wanted. The pressure is high enough to remove the dirt (assuming you're using the pressure washer detergent) but not so high as to do damage. It doesn't have the "recoil" one feels in a drive-through, do-it-yourself carwash, but I think the carwash recoil is because it's pushing a great water volume so you do get done faster I suppose. This washer will not strip paint, clean bricks or concrete very well, but it won't blast the skin off your leg either. My only complaint is that the hose hookup is plastic. It works just fine but I'm suspicious that if you were to move the unit dragging the hose behind held only by the connector, some day it'll break. Of course, maybe it won't ever -- that's just my fear. Otherwise, so long as you don't think it's a cheaper replacement for a 3800 psi, gas driven washer, you'll be well served and satisfied.

BUYER BEWARE BAD ITEM,
By Hawaii "Hawaii" (Michigan) - See all my reviews

I have bought two of these items in the last 2 years for my auto detailing business. The first one caught fire after 9 months of usage. I returned the charred washer back to the store. Get this, they tried to give me a busted up new replacement. I said "NO!!" and got a perfect new one. This second one desinigrated around the water connection areas after 6 months. The pump cutoff also malfuntioned on both units, causing it to always run or pulsate. Then the connections just broke off and the whole unit is now worthless. Yes, these are cheap pumps as electric washers go, but it should last a little longer than 6-9 months for $100+. I highly recommend that you DO NOT BUY this pressure washer. Also, weak pressure, only 1,000PSI.

my husband receive this item for christmas 2004 and he only used it once and the motor quit working and the off and on button came off. He has tried several times to contact this company and no one will answer the phone. They say each call is important but they sure don't act as if it is . This item should be taken off the market.

Not Good,

This review is from: Black & Decker 1,050 PSI Electric Pressure Washer PW1300 (Lawn & Patio)
I first used this washer to clean a few bicycles. The soap dispenser would do a bike and a half (if I hurried), but the detergent, diluted by the sprayer, would loosen only the light dirt and dust. Even the high pressure water would not phase the grease and grime on the chains and sprockets. For that I used a brush, gasoline and degreaser full strength out of a hand spray bottle. I got the same results when I tried the washer on my pickup truck and car, and within a couple of minutes went back to my old method of brush, bucket and garden hose. The unit began leaking at the water inlet the first day, and the high pressure hose separated inside the sprayer handle after sitting idle for a month. The unit with all its attachments now lies at the bottom of a trash dumpster I rented for yard waste. The only positive thing I can say about purchasing this pressure washer is that it introduced me to TurtleWax Car and Boat Wash pressure washer fluid which works great full strength as a degreaser. Just don't get the mist into your eyes or inhale the vapor/mist. Doing either hurts. I can also recommend a small hose attachment from WalMart that has a small soap dispenser with different soap concentrations and spray patterns. That little thing works as well as (if not better than) the pressure washer and costs only 8 bucks! There may be some uses for this B&D pressure washer, but I was very disappointed with its performance.
