Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Straightforward and durable, the 1100-watt Black & Decker Classic iron is aptly named. Its construction is sturdy, simple, and gleaming, with the satisfying weight that’s often missing from synthetic-material models. As a nice update on vintage design, the iron comes with a nonstick soleplate for easy glide over all kinds of fabric. It has plenty of power for its compact form, handles materials from acrylic to linen, and irons dry or with steam. A fabric guide is mounted to the body, and a handle dial sets the heat. Clear markings distinguish the steam settings, and a push button turns steam on and off. This construction is easy to use--it would be hard to set it wrong accidentally--though you do have to estimate the iron’s water level as the reservoir has no view window. Other helpful features include a button channel and extra long power cord. Measuring 9-1/4 by 5-3/4 by 4-3/4 inches, the iron carries a full one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

5.0 out of 5 stars B&D F65D Iron, May 19, 2007
By
This review is from: Black & Decker F65D Classic Iron (Kitchen)
No stick surface, good heat controls, steam vents stay clean (use distilled water)and most of all it feels like an iron and not a piece of plastic. Great value for your dollar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Iron that's nice and simple!, November 28, 2011
This review is from: Black & Decker F65D Classic Iron (Kitchen)
Sometimes the best things are simple.

This iron is nice and heavy like the old time irons which makes creasing a breeze. It steams well and the controls are very simple. The best attribute is that it doesn't have that stupid auto shut-off which allows the water in the iron to cool down and subsequently leak on your clothes.

I don't need all of the silly lights and sirens, and unecessary bells and whistles that these new irons have. Just give me an iron that steams and presses my clothes well. That is all!!

This review is for the F63D model only! All subsequent models have the auto-shutoff.
I found my F63D on EBay for 20 bucks. They are hard to find so get them while they can be got. I only saw 2 on Ebay (both used)

1.0 out of 5 stars Lousy, February 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Black & Decker F65D Classic Iron (Kitchen)
This is my second and they both were terrible. (I know - why did I buy another?) Thought maybe the first was just a fluke. Doesn't steam most of the time and spits water out.
