5.0 out of 5 stars The Heavyweight Iron Champ
It's always good to rely on something as STURDY as this iron. The weight adds to the swiftness of ironing the creases of the clothes. You can tell it's manufactured really well once you've received it. The metal plate warms up fast and is definitely made to cater to different types of fabrics.

This definitely falls on my recommended products list.

1.0 out of 5 stars not happy
I bought this on the recommendation of a reliable appliance repair shop but I'm not happy with it. It's doesn't heat up as much as I think it should and the steam is very minimal. I wish I'd saved all the paperwork so I could return it. And it was a LOT cheaper at K-Mart!

My complaint with this iron is that it doesn't have a longer cord. Other than that it does a great job. A nice no frills iron.

best iron ever! easy glider, gets hot enough for denim, good steam - if wanted. easy turn on-off button. LOVE IT.

1.0 out of 5 stars Black & Decker The Classis Steam Dry Iron, January 27, 2006
I bought this iron because I liked the weight of it. I sew a lot and a heavy iron is helpful for fusing interfacing when sewing. The problem I had with the iron is that it doesn't heat properly. Right out of the box, brand new the iron did not get hot enough to turn the water into steam, even on the highest temperature settings.

1.0 out of 5 stars Irregular screw head, December 9, 2010

I liked the performance of this product until the cord connections came loose (which happens frequently with irons). I grabbed my toolbox to fix the connection and not a single one of my tips would fit this screw head. It would be such a simple fix if I could only get the screw out. I guess they want me to go out and buy a new one. What a waste of our earths resources to fill the landfill with products that COULD be fixed.

This package arrived on the date given and properly packaged. If you are one of those people that like the older style irons and hate those pieces of plastic they offer now, you will realy love this iron. It gets hot really fast and do not have a lot of unneeded functions or material on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good iron, with one problem, August 23, 2010
This review is from: Black & Decker Classic Iron F65E with Nonstick Soleplate, White (Kitchen)
I got this and plugged it right in and started using it. It irons like a dream, but after 7 shirts (about an hour) the water started pouring out of the hole that you pour it into. I wasn't tipping the iron up so that it would do that - but just wondered why it would. I emptied the iron and used it dry with sizing. It works great - heavier than most, but I sew a lot, so the heaviness is good. Does not stick when using starch or sizing. This was the iron my Mom had when I was a kid - it's great. I'm sure I'll figure out why the water poured out. Suggestions?
