I ordered this refurbished mower a year ago. I was so happy to have something to mow my yard with. It worked great last summer. I have a very small yard that take under 10 minutes to mow. I was proud. I could whip that extension cord around like an art form. In suburbia land, I found out, how you keep your ten by twelve foot little lawn is how you get judged by neighbors. I'd not known!

However, I got it out this spring and it was a different story. I mowed out front, a five minute job, and it was all good. Then I went to mow my tiny backyard, that takes about ten minutes. After a few minutes, I heard a clicking sound, in the motor area, and the mower quit. I checked the outlet, then the extension cord. All good.

Then I contacted the company I bought it from (a weekend so I haven't heard back yet). Then I began reading online and took the motor cover off That's when I saw something not right. The magnet ring had a copper strip misssing. I had to look up the parts list on Black and Decker to see what that part was. I'm no mechanic. I took a photo. The bad part costs $75 to replace!! No way, for a mower that has only been used one summer, under a dozen times.

This is tragic, man!!! (crying softly) I can't say I hate this mower, (as in the one star rating) because I loved it when it worked. I don't hate it now. However, I bet I will soon, to think I pretty much burned up money buying it, wasted my money, threw money in the trash. I'm in shock now, you see, that I spent so much money on something that lasted for only a tiny number of uses. Bitterness rises within me. Makes me feel violated!!! I WAS violated!

Please, mower magnet ringy thingy, just work anyway. I need you. If I could post a photo of the damaged magnet ring, I would. I thought you could, but I can't figure out how. It's a fine photo, I think.

Took it out for the first cut of the season on the day I received it. Have tall weeds and leaves covering yard. Mower had no problem cutting through everything. I used the bag, all the clipping were packed tightly in the bag, filling it completely.

The handle is padded and comfortable to use. The handle is fixed in position which makes it easy to control the mower. I have a steep slope to mow so the fixed handle works well for me, but it takes up room when stowed.

The switch is on the right hand side so your always holding it with your right hand. When you release the switch the mower stops immediately.

If you are expecting quiet, this is not it. If you have a small yard or slopes and don't want to mess with gas this mower works well.

I just finished putting together and using the MM1800R (it took about 5 minutes to put together) and it worked great. It's relatively Quiet, light and the catcher is super easy to empty(there is also a plastic insertable "plug" if you'd like to mulch instead of using the catcher.) Yippeeee, no more annoying pull starting! I don't believe however, that this mower was made for larger yards, as I imagine the cord could possibly get in the way, But if you have a smaller yard, it's just the ticket! The mower also appeared to be brand new, so I'm not sure what parts were "reconditioned". A definite buy at 150 bucks!

This mower is easy to use. It's my first electric mower and I love it. It is a small task to have to wrestle with the cord but worth it for the price. I would recommend it for everyone.

Mower worked better than anticipated. This mower works just as well as any gas mower I have ever used. The grass collector is large, holds enough mulched grass to fill a large 30 gal trash bag. Glad I purchased it.

Product was reasonably priced, in like new-condition, and does a great job mowing. Due to the corded requirement, it is ideal for a smaller yard of which mine qualifies. My only critique is that the smaller bag tends to fill up quickly as compared to a gas model I previously owned, but it is not a big issue for me.

Product is in great shape and seems just like new. Was really easy to put together and was mowing my grass within 20 minutes. The cord is somewhat of a pain to deal with, but I'll get used to it. I love the quick start (especially after my gas one just died completely after taking about 10 pulls to start). It's not the most powerful mower, but it's good enough. Glad I won't be having to deal with gas and oil for now on.
