I paid $75 for this Black & Decker GCO18SB-2 and was not happy with it. I bought a Roybi P850 instead. The B&d did not have two speeds, and the the Roybi did. The charger is very basis and does not indicate when charged and it was suggested to charge initially for 12 hour and then 6 hours for recharges. The Roybi charged in about one and a half hours and had an...

The Roybi charged in about one and a half hours and had an indicator to tell it was charged. The Roybi only cost $69 at Home Depot. A minor annoyance was that the B&D was packed in that rigid plastic pack, while the Roybi was in a cardboard box. Both drill came with carrying case. The B&D was a floppy bag while the Roybi was a solid cloth covered box.

I purchased this particular drill because it takes the same batteries that my previous drill used, which, by the way, was very well used and was put through some hard labor. Built a nice set of shelves in my shed/workshop the day after receiving this drill. Works great! Drives 3" screws like its nobody's business. I would highly recommend this cordless drill to anyone. I am looking forward to doing some major deck repairs this summer.

This drill didn't work well from day one. It didn't properly grip the drill bits. Then after a few "uses" chuck the got stuck all the way open. Seems to be a common occurrence from what I found online. Once it's stuck it involves taking the thing apart using a vice & other tools beyond the basics. Don't bother.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective Stud finder, October 5, 2010

The drill works very well, but the stud finder is a dud! I can't return it because I didn't try the stud finder until 31 days after I received it. My fault! Don't buy this if you need a stud finder!!
