I had never owned electric hedge trimmers before. I grew up using hand clippers and being a creature of habit I never upgraded. Finally, this season I was too overwhelmed to even attempt cutting back the hedges and bushes around my house in that old manner. Researching products on-line the 2450 model stuck out as the "best workhorse" for the buck. This 2455 trimmer is basically the same unit but with a rotating handle.

I can't get over how well this unit cuts through the woody growth of my old hollies and camellias. It is lightweight and well balanced. I needed this unit "yesterday" so I purchased it at the local Lowe's, which had the same price as Amazon.

This unit works very well for me, I highly recommend it.
I kick myself now for all the years I stuck with those old hand clippers!

This thing just took down my overgrown and unruly hedges like a knife through warm butter. I had my eye on the HT512 (only 2" shorter but with more power and a lower price) or the very popular HH2450 (currently the best reviewed on the web), but after popping into a Home Depot and hefting these things, I was sold on this one.

This model is basically the HH2450 with a new swivel handle, which allows you to turn the blade and handle 90 degrees left or right, which makes transitioning from trimming the top of the hedge to the side of the hedge a real breeze. I have long hedges and spend as much time trimming the sides of the hedges as I do the top, which with every other trimmer I've seen, makes for a pretty awkward hold. With the swivel feature, it's just as comfortable trimming vertically as it is horizontally. This is a nice upgrade to an already very solid trimmer-

Works great on my Bottle Brush Hedge. The Bottle Brush grows so fast that I need the 3/4 inch cutting capacity. Packaging is not strong enough to withstand UPS or Fedex transport. Cutter came bent but was able to straighten it out. Amazon price was better any other place.

After only a few summers, and very few uses, the rechargeable hedge trimmer's battery lost its ability to hold a charge...again. The cost of a new battery is about the same as a whole darn trimmer. Enough is enough. I bought the B&D HH2455 with the swivel handle and couldn't be more pleased! Dang, this thing could chop through a forest! And the 24" cutting blade takes a big bite out of the job quickly and evenly. On my first use, I only intended to trim a few hedges in front of the house. I had so much fun and such great success that I trimmed every hedge and bush on the property! Everything looks clean and defined -- as others have said, you can cut through some pretty thick branches with ease.

I don't mind the cord at all. My husband and I are now using an Earthwise electric lawn mower (that works like a champ), a Stihl electric weed whacker (that also works like a champ), as well as a Toro electric leaf and grass blower/vacuum (terrific for leaf raking season). The power is consistent, as opposed to battery packs which tend to lose their torque as the battery wears down. Be sure to use a good extension cord for the best power transfer to the equipment. A 12-gauge cord is expensive, but necessary for the lawn mower, and works well for the other power tools, too. You can find a bucket-type cord reel to make this heavy cord manageble.

Go get it, and beam in the glory of a beautiful landscape!

I am a 71 year old, 115 pound, 5 ft tall lady and have very thick, over 30 year old bushes, including 110 feet of pyraracantha at shouder height, 100 feet of 5 ft wide juniper, and about 30 other large, single bushes of pyracantha, privet, oleander, lavender, and juniper, so my old 2450 Hedgehog was a real work horse and got A LOT of use.

It has lasted for years. The blades were finally getting dull, so I went to Amazon and, unwisely, chose to try the 2455 with the rotating handle. After 6 weeks, it will not even turn on. When I went to purchase a new 2450, they had either gone from $69 to $116 at Amazon and other sites, or were sold out at the $79ish price all over the web in that short amount of time. You can still get the 2455 almost everywhere, at some places for prices as low as $54. Makes me think, others had the same experience as I. No one wants another 2455, and the 2450 is in high demand.

I just bought these trimmers and used them for the first time. I had a traditional type of electric trimmers prior to these. The 2455 cut my time and sweat in half. The durability of these trimmers is the only question I would have and that won't be answered for a few years. They are well designed keeping the cord out your way and adaptable making them much kinder to your muscles.

This is one of the finest purchases I have made in a long time. It is light weight and easy to use. I used it on my tall boxwood recently and was able to cut the top easily where I had had problems before reaching. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Love the swivel handle. It has enough power to perform a great job on my hedges.The price is LOW compared to my local stores. My neighbor ordered one!!

I've had B & D battery power trimmer before and hated it because of low power and battery ran out a lot..... I then bought a very expensive gas powdered trimmer and although it tackles the job, it was hard to start and loud and very heavy and vibration was horrible!

so, I did my research and settled for the HH2455 electric trimmer. Love the rotating handle, light weight, low noise and vibration, extended blade reach and powerful precise trimming it offers! This all for a really low price! Sure, you have to plug it in but I use a 100' cord and hardly notice it ......Love it!

I have bought many different hedge trimmers throughout the years and a different brand every time. This is the first one I actually loved. For the money I don't think you can beat it and it is probably better and easier to use than trimmers costing twice as much. B&D gets a big attaboy!
