These sell for only a few dollars more than the basic battery, making them a good deal, relatively speaking.

It holds a charge for a long time much longer than the Ni-cd battery drill I replaced.

First, I am not an expert on batteries. But, I do possess an investigative nature stemming from my line of work. So as of this writing, let me share my findings based upon my investigation into the Black & Decker 20v Lithium battery line.

The newer LBXR20 is a 1.5 Ah battery. The LBXR2020 is a 2.0 Ah battery, and the LB2X4020-OPE is a 4.0 Ah battery (basically a piggy-backed LBXR2020). The first B&D 20v Lithium batteries (LB20 before 2012?) were, as far as I can tell, generally something less than 1.5 Ah with disappointing run time.

Different B&D 20v tools will come with different 20v Lithium batteries. Example: I purchased a LST300 Weed Trimmer that had the LBXR20 1.5 Ah battery. Before I used it, I noticed a sale on the LCC300 Combo, which not only had the LST300 Trimmer, but also the Blower for the same money and had the LBXR2020 2.0 Ah battery. I returned the single Trimmer and bought the Combo. So, it would seem different single tools or combo packs will likely come with different 20v Lithium batteries, or multiples thereof.

No 2 people will achieve the same battery usage per charge given the same task with the same tool(s). We walk/move at different speeds. Some people will prefer to have one battery that lasts twice as long, and others would prefer to have the flexibility of 2 batteries that have half the run time (one on the charger while using the other). Different strokes for different folks, and different use requirements.

I have one LBXR20 battery and one LBXR2020 battery. I have a smaller rural yard in a planned community, with about 250 lineal feet of edging/trimming around the perimeter.

The best thing about Lithiums is they hold a charge on the shelf. They also don't have the memory issues that NiMH batteries have. Lithum is the way to go.

I purchased some charge markers, a big help keep your discharged batteries marked for charging later!

It lasts for 10 minutes in the B&D hedger, maybe 15 in my blower - and takes hours to charge and doesn't like the cold. All which means you need a few of them if you want a productive Saturday morning. Still, I like the convenience of being cordless.

I bought 2 of these for my Black and Decker 20V Max Lithium Ion Pole Pruning Saw. They last 33% longer than the basic LBXR20 1.5 Ah battery that comes with the saw. This LBXR2020-OPE battery is 2.0 Ah. Makes it easier to get the job done. These sell for only a few dollars more than the basic battery, making them a good deal, relatively speaking.

Too soon to really give a proper opinion yet.. However at this point I'm compelled to say this battery was charged and used on B&D power drill on several projects and still going strong. I'm used to always having to keep batteries on the chargers between projects and still having them run out before I'm done. Cordless tools ALWAYS ready to go? Yeah, I'm definitely loving this!

Bought a 2nd battery for the B&D drill I purchased. It has higher capacity and wanted to have 2 batteries so I could have one charging. It holds a charge for a long time much longer than the Ni-cd battery drill I replaced.
