Because my husband and I both suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, I thought this would be a great product for our kitchen. I took it home, unwrapped the packing, and tested it with a jar of salsa. It was effortless. All I had to do was press a button.

As for the can opener, I had to play around with that a bit to get the rim to line up with the blade correctly with a large can. Once I got it positioned right, it worked like a charm.

I haven't used the bottle opener yet, but know that it is for metal caps only.

The appliance comes with a set of instructions that were clear and easy to understand.

I can barely open jars any more. Finally my husband bought me this gadget. It has saved my life and my independence which I prize greatly. It works well for the price.

There is a lever and a bar on the top lid. The lever works so that the top can lower the top to meet the jar lid. The bar is meant to twist the lid off. Therefore, one just needs to lift the top high enough to place the jar below the top. Than lower the top to twist the lid off. It works well. And simple.

My mother has severe arthritis and was unable to open cans or bottles by herself, making it hard to live alone. I got her this opener and she can open bottles and cans fine now and is thrilled at the freedom this has given her. She is 88 years old and figured out how to use it easily.

Both the jar and can opener work fine but the can opener lever is built to come apart for easy cleaning but comes off too easily when just trying to remove the can from the opener.
Good for people with little strength in their arms and hands

I am delighted with my new jar/can opener. It's very easy to use and works fine. It's a little bigger than your average opener -- but I expected that for the "combo." I've even opened jars that were "stuck" shut, old honey jars and the like. So far, no problems.

best can and jar opener on the market! opens cans of all sizes easily but best of all adjustes its height to handle most sizes of jars. Even opens vacume sealed jars that were refrigerated before opening; and you know what a pain that can be. I also like the way it compresses for ease of storage. It looks nice enough to keep on the kitchen counter. Clean up is easy, just remove the cutting edge from the unit and wash in the dishwasher. For the rest of unit, just wipe down with a damp soapy cloth or with a sanitizer wipe. Have recommended this to all my freinds. If you have poor hand strength or a physical impairment, this is a must.

Love this product. My only complaint is that many jars are taller than this opener allows for. If the height could be adjusted more I would rate this at 5 stars.

I cannot tell you how this product has made a difference in my life. I was having such a time getting jars open. When I broke my right arm, I was really in a predicament. A friend loaned me her Black & Decker Lids-Off Jar and can opener and I was back in business. You can bet that I ordered one immediately and have loved it ever since. The only sad news is the big jars at Cost Co do not fit in it, but everything else does. It is a miracle for those with arthritis, handicaps, seniors, etc.

The Black and Decker Open-It-All jar,can,and bottle opener is a GREAT machine, especially for arthritis patients. Opens jars and cans effortless, just follow the instructions. Nothing on the market, that I've found, can compare with it. Nice looking, space saving, good working, and good priced machine. If this one quits or wares out, then I'll be shopping for another one.
