I bought this for my wife as sort of a gag gift since she's always asking me to open jars. This one is pretty good, but it's not perfect. There were a couple jars it couldn't open, and it's also fairly limited in circumference (don't expect it to open big, wide pickle jars for example.) But it is a good quality product, it's pretty compact when collapsed, and it's reasonably priced.

I purchased this for my grandparents for Christmas. My grandmother has rheumatoid arthritis and I was looking for a good gift. I received a lot of referrals for jar openers, can openers, etc. My grandma ABSOLUTELY loved this thing, she said that she can use it to open things as small as nail polish. It is very easy to use and is a relief for those in need of extra strength. I think my Grandpa is a little more pleased now that he isn't interrupted while watching soccer now!

Bought this for my 85 year old mother who has arthritis and she loves it. I have one and knew it would be easy for her to use. This is a great product for anyone who finds it hard to open all those jars in the pantry.

We owned the first edition of the opener for many years, and the gears finally gave out. This one is a streamlined version of the first, and the few times I have used it it seems OK. Having to push down continously to open a jar is a bit of a drag for my elderly mother, but hopefully she'll be able to operate it after much practice. I wish they would have kept the design the same. I don't consider this an improvement over the old one.

My mom loves this. Her hands simply can't do it & she doesn't like to ask for help.
