I have arthritis in my thumb joints. This makes opening jar lids painfull and/or nearly impossible. This very handy little opener has never failed to open any lid within a matter of seconds. Easy to use. Attractive design- looks good on my kitchen counter. I love mine so much that I'm buying one for my mother, and also one for my best friend.

The first jar I tried to open was too large to fit between the bottom jaws.

Therein lies the rub ... a lot of jars I'd want help opening are either too big around or to tall to fit this appliance.

The One-Touch seems better, but the reason I bought this is because mine broke off one of the jaws opening a jar. So, a tougher One Touch jar opener would be best (if they ever make one).

I purchased this product for my 85-yr old mother-in-law who was having trouble removing the lids off of jars. Since purchasing this item, she has expressed her appreciation in making her life a lot easier. It is easy to use and adjusts quickly to any size jar. I was not sure if the item was electrical because I did not see that information printed anywhere in the description. But rest assured that it is an electrical item, no batteries needed just an electrical outlet.

I've had one of the previous model numbers of the Black and Decker Lids Off Jar Opener and I wanted to get one for my friend. I found that they have made it more new and improved.. It appears to take up less counter sppace which is a plus! My friend says she loves her annd I have always loved mine!!

One who has bad wrists

This product works great on straight jars. I had to add rubber adapters to the gripping pads to provide additional surface contact on oval or slanted jars but that has been the only possible point of fault. I think this fault could be corrected by adding a swivel function to the jar gripping pads.

This is a great item for anyone with a lack of strength in their hands, or just someone who does not enjoy taking 5 minutes to open a jar. It has not failed to open any size of jar, either.

My wife & I was haveing trouble opening jars. We are not spring chickens any more. Ordered the Black & Decker jar opener. It is a great product. We love it. Works great.

the jar opener from Black and decker works like a charm...for any of you ladies that struggle with opening jars of just about any size, this is for you....just put the jar into the opener , tighten the bottom holders and press the top off the opener down and it automatically takes off the jar top ...a fantastic item....

Great product . My second one in seven years. This one works, too and has even been improved. New, unopened box as described. Love this and it especially good for anyone without much strength in their hands.

Good product opens jar great very easy to use, only complaint is the short cord length, other than that its worth the money.
