5.0 out of 5 stars I love mine!
This is the best mixer I've ever had, and it has lasted quite a long time. Maybe my recipes for frosting or cake batter are too thick for most mixers but this one handles them very well. The others get overheated and die within a few months. I love the power this gives me, without paying 200+ dollars for a larger model that takes up precious counter space.

1.0 out of 5 stars ...
STOP! Don't waist your money! ... . I used it only three times before it died. The final time I used it, the motor made a horrible noise. All I was trying to do was to mix a small batch of cake frosting. I kept trying to let it rest, but the grinding noise got worse and worse. Finally it started spewing black smoke, so I had to unplug it and throw it outside before it...

All in all a very unsatisfying purchase!

2.0 out of 5 stars Cons outweigh the Pros, December 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Black & Decker MX95K PowerPro 230-Watt Spatula Mixer (Kitchen)
PROS:
1. Lots of power. When you need it, it's great.
2. Easy-clean beaters. (But most newer models have these.)
3. Natural angle of handle makes for easier mixing, and rubber handle is easy to grip with messy fingers.
4. Storage case is a nice add-on.

CONS:
1. Too much power. The lowest speed is too fast for some tasks.
2. Useless spatula attachment. I was intrigued by this idea, and it clinched my decision to buy this model, but it fell off within the first 10 seconds of use.
3. Very awkward control switch. The speed control is a switch you flip from left to right with your thumb, unlike other mixers I've used with a natural forward-backward motion. This is not just uncomfortable; it is actually difficult to stop somewhere in the middle without flipping the switch to full power and spewing batter all over the kitchen.

Yes, the blender is very powerful and I have to take more ease at not letting it spit batter or filling anywhere. After a couple of uses with the "beater" attachments, one of the whiskers broke off!! Now I have to go through the trouble of finding a replacement arm.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted ONE DAY!, November 29, 2004
This review is from: Black & Decker MX95K PowerPro 230-Watt Spatula Mixer (Kitchen)
I was so excited when I bought this. I used it to make 2 batches of sugar cookies and it broke right in the middle of the second batch. I wasn't thrilled with it anyway since even on 1 it spins so fast that batter goes flying. When it croaked halfway through my second batch of cookies that sealed the deal for me and I thought I have got to warn other unsuspecting people of this horrible product! So here I am warning you. This is not worth the money!!!

The Black and Decker hand mixer is for the money the best quality and the most powerful. It has the attachments I want and need and it will sit on the end and not tip. It is the most powerful at 230 watts, ranking with the, competition it stands out above the rest in looks and being user freindly. As with all Black and Decker equipment it will last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What I Needed !!, May 8, 2005
By
This review is from: Black & Decker MX95K PowerPro 230-Watt Spatula Mixer (Kitchen)
I needed a hand mixer with a wisk attachment to whip egg whites, heavy cream and ice cream mix. I wanted power and low price. This mixer met those conditions so I bought it. The first time out I mixed some cake batter perfectly. The second time I whipped some heavy cream so quickly I was amazed. I was only using the 2nd and 3rd power levels.
I have not had batter flying around the room and the motor, so far, sounds fine. It feels good in my hand and it easy to use.

I don't think I need this much power to mow my lawn! This thing spits whatever you are mixing all over your counter, your shirt, and your kids! I would NOT buy this product again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Item, December 21, 2002
By
This review is from: Black & Decker MX95K PowerPro 230-Watt Spatula Mixer (Kitchen)
This item died on it's first use. I was mixing very light items (sugar and eggs) and when I moved up to the 2nd speed, it made a little spark inside of the handle/motor and then just died. Made my whole kitchen smell! With Black and Deckers reputation for good equipment, this was a very disappointing purchase. A waste of money!
