2.0 out of 5 stars poor performance, May 31, 2010
This review is from: Black and Decker 24.0 Volt Lawn Mower Battery 90508011
I've had the cmm1200 for 3 years, replaced the battery last year, and this year it's again hardly holding a charge. It worked great when battery was new last summer, but over winter it seems to have lost the ability to hold a charge - even though I kept it plugged in the entire time as per the Black and Decker mower manual. I wouldn't give up my rechargeable electric mower even with the inconvenience of the battery's giving out only a quarter of the way through our yard now (it used to go the whole yard) - we love the mower does a fantastic job otherwise - but it is becoming a real inconvenience. B&W needs to give better options / instructions for making the battery capacity last longer than a couple dozen recharge cycles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got Great Life Out of this Battery, October 2, 2010

I'll throw my two cents worth in. I've had the Black & Decker CMM 1000 lawn mower for about eight years and it's still on the original battery. Not too darned shabby. I will admit, though, this year the battery is starting to fade. With the exception of one winter the lawn mower and battery have been stored outside and it has always been plugged in to the charger. Perhaps this is the reason the battery has lasted all this time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not cost effective., July 22, 2010

I've had the mulching mower for 2 years now, and the battery has completely toasted out. I can't bring myself to spend 130 dollars every two years to buy a new batter. For that cost, I can buy a decent (nothing fancy) gas mower that will last for 5 - 10 years with proper maintenance. I'm glad mine was a gift.
