Great Capacity but Many Hotspots,
By
This review is from: Black & Decker SKG605 Multi-Cuisine Grande Extra-Deep Electric Skillet
I was initially drawn to this electric skillet because of its capacity and after using it for two months, I'm still really pleased with that aspect of it. However, I'm really disappointed with the vast temperature difference from one end to the other and can't even make pancakes in it because of how easily one end will burn before the pancakes can cook through on the other end. Even if I start the "cool end" first, I'll still have the hotspots and burned pancakes. I have yet to make something like coq au vin where it will simmer unattended for a period of time and frankly, I'm even a goosey to try that because if history repeats itself, one end will cook much hotter than the other. This skillet certainly has wonderful nonstick properties and I love the surface area, but I truly wish that I would have used it more within its first 30 days so I would have had a better handle on its performance and I would have returned it.
