Customer Reviews

Seems to hold a charge for a long time.

I was pleased that I was able to save some money by replacing a battery rather than the entire drill.

I am very glad to find these batteries because they don't carry them in the stores any more.

After reading many reviews I decided to give this battery a try. It was by far the least expensive. Upon receipt I noticed some slight physical differences, but found that they did not hinder insertion of the battery into either the drill or the charger. I am also very pleased with the power of the battery. So far (a few months)I have used it a number of times and not yet had to re-charge. I gave it a 24 hour initial charge in my DeWalt charger which worked flawlessly. My drill is the DW926 that originally used the DW9062 9.6v DeWalt battery. This is a perfect alternative, and much less expensive, for the regular replacement DeWalt battery.

11/26/12 Update - After 3 years of experience with this battery I must say it is better than the original DeWalt. It has taken and held charge for lengthy periods (months at a time) with as much power as can be expected with a 9.6 volt battery. This remains the perfect alternative to the OE DeWalt battery. Great value!

I was going to throw out my battery operated drill and revert to a corded model when I decided to give it another chance. This new battery did the trick. The charge holds longer than I have needed it for recent projects (unlike the other battery) and I am back in the cordless camp.

The service was excellent and I received the product two days early. Good job!

I was very happy to find that when my battery arrived I didn't have to spend the time charging it - out of the package it was ready to go. Now I don't have to be like Tool Time Tim waiting for an accident to happen, I can go ahead and jump in feet first. Thanks Amazon for nice prices for quality products.

I have been using these batteries in my drill/driver for quite some time. I have found that the batteries provide a surprising amount of power and life for the voltage, and I have not noticed any memory effect. I have not compared them to other brands, nor to higher voltage batteries, but I am happy with the drill/driver and the performance of the battery. I suspect that the newer, higher voltage batteries probably give equal or better performance at less or equal weight, respectively.

The battery on my 15 year old Black and Decker cordless drill (bought in 1997) stopped holding a charge. I still use this drill when I need to use 1/2 inch drill bit because my newer lighter drill does not take the 3/8 chuck needed for 1/2 inch drill. So instead of buying a new big drill I decided to try a new battery. I was not sure if the replacement battery will work in such an old drill, but it did.

The new battery is slightly larger than the old drill (see photos of the two batteries side by side under customer photos) but it fit my old drill just fine. So good to have the old power back!

I was pleased that I was able to save some money by replacing a battery rather than the entire drill. Under customer photos I am including a photo which shows the old drill as well as both batteries side by side.

Got this for a Dewalt. Other reviewers said you just needed to trim a tab for it to work in the Dewalt drill. Yes, that is true, but, no amount of trimming will let it fit into the dewalt charging base.
So, I just unscrewed the base of the battery and the top half of the Dewalt battery case fits right on. So, yes, you can make it fit the Dewalt and it works in the charger as well, with one small difference. The actual copper tabs that plug in are solid on the new battery vs. bent tubular on the Dewalt battery. This makes putting the battery into the charger kinda different. Instead of just dropping the battery in, you have to sort of press it in, to make sure there is contact.
This all is still acceptable given the price difference.

Just a heads up. The B&D PS120 Fire Storm 9.6-Volt replacement battery

DOES NOT FIT out of the package into a DeWalt 952 drill/screwdriver.

BUT ... I cut a 1/16" x1/16" notch with a utility knife into the seating area on the DeWalt drill to accommodate the extra guide on the battery.

(After insert adjustment, battery works fine in drill and a good price; I would have rated 5 except for the adjustment needed. I'm ordering a second B&D battery to have on hand ... both my 10 year old original DeWalt batteries had died.)

My older cordless drill needed a new battery. After shopping the usual local (Houston) places (Lowes, Best Buy, Ace), I tried an Internet search. I was delighted to find the battery at Amazon at a greatly reduced price and with my order for some DVDs there was no shipping costs. Thank you Amazon.
