with this boombox-style unit, you could go to the beach or the woods, listen to your playlists on an mp3, plug in a george foreman grill and cook up some burgers or brats while you recharge your cel phone -- all at the same time. that's kinda cool. this is a tricked-out unit. it's not the loudest boombox you'll ever hear, but it does pump out decent sound when fully charged.

pros:
-lots of functions: mp3 cradle, usb port, flashlights, ac outlets, am/fm radio
-portable size with comfortable padded carrying handle
-uses rechargeable internal batteries; cord stores in rear
-ac power station features green/red status lcds
-rubberized grip handle
-nice price
-wont eat tapes or scratch cds
-accurate digital tuner

cons:
-some quirks: usb can cause feedback if switched on when radio or mp3 are also on. it's a good idea to test functions and cross-compatibility before using it the first time.
-100w refers to AC power, not internal amp for speakers
-only line in outlet is mp3 headphone jack
jack of all trades/master of none.

overall, good deal for the price i paid, which was a lot under msrp. not sure if it'd be worth original price. but a good item to have if you like the outdoors.

This is an absolutely awesome product! I use it for powering my laptop when the battery dead and this works perfect, not to mention the fact that I can listen to my iPod without headphones, both at the same! I use this on campus, at the park or in the car. Never had any problems with it so far, charges up rather quickly, and the lights are great for in the back of the car without bothering the driver!!

I had to send it back last month, I live in an metro area yet had major radio reception problems, even outdoors. Maybe a defective unit, or maybe OK as an iPOD player, but not a radio.

I don't know if ithis is a good thing or a bad thing, since I've bought it my power has gone out twice. I absolutly loved it that I could use it to get around my house and still be able to listen to the radio and power my alam clock for the morrning.

Bought this for use with my MP3 player at the jobsite for $49. It's solidly built and has sufficient volume and speaker quality. I like the power supply and LED's built-in.

Would have rated 5 stars but there's a slight defect with the MP3 connector that requires jiggling of the wire to get both speakers to play.

4 months later I'm still happy with this jobsite radio, but I wouldn't even consider paying $110 for it. It rates 4 stars at $49, which is what I paid. For $100, I'd recommend buying something else.

All of the functions work well, the radio comes in, lights turn on etc. I think I was expecting that it would be able to charge from a 12v source but it doesn't. And it doesn't make sense to buy an inverter for an inverter.

Iv had this for about 1 and 1/2 years no probs. This thing gos every where with me. Nice for charging cell phones and runing small appliances. I use my iPod on this all the time. It's good for camping ,fishing, power outages and lots more. I got this because I didint like having to bye 8 d size batteries for other radios. With this u use it tell it's dead then charge it up ,a lot easier and cheaper than bying battorys.

After reseaching this type of product at a store I found this particular model was to small for my needs. It did not have enough power to last long enough for my needs

I got this product at a good price.Unfortunately,you get what you pay for.
Cheap plastic,pressure sensative back door that does not function,poor reception,and a battery that lasts for about one hour even when its continuously charged as the directions state to do. Also it's claim to be a 100W converter source is laughable--the circut breaker trips on anything more than 60W!! One star only because it doesn't accept 0 stars.

Received yesterday and would not charge after 24 hours. Hope to have good luck with B&D Service
