I for years have been using both the square vib sanders and the round orbiting sanders and have always preferred the square design because it offers more control and attention to detail than its counterpart. The Black and Decker sander is a very powerful yet easy to use sander that has a ton of added features that make it an exceptional product.

Pros:

1) The paper platform uses both standard and specialized paper. You can use regular old sheets of paper or you can buy the pre-cut pieces that have holes in them to allow the sanded material to be picked up and blown into the filtered collector.
2) The filtered collector is a great feature that prevents material from being introduced into the air within the work area.
3) The handle is very ergonomic and very comfortable. I've used it for hours on end and have never walked away with stiff or sore hands or wrists no matter what hand left or right that I use.
4) The power switch is located in a great spot that allows for easy use.
5) The unit itself is robust and built to last without being overly heavy.
6) As said before the unit is powerful but doesn't over power the user. When picked up from the material while running it doesn't twist like some other units do.

Cons:

1) The filter on the back doesn't lock in very well and at times can be knocked off while working.
2) Even while using the paper that the tool came with, which is just a single piece of 120grit, it seemed to me the exhausted material didn't get beyond the exhaust outlet in the tool and into the filter can itself. After using it for about an hour I noticed the filter chamber still looked pretty clean so I took it off and found the sanded material had collected in the narrow exhaust port.

Overall the tool is pretty good. It is well made and easy to use. A couple issues but not that significant.

Awesome sander for the money......don't buy pre-cut sheets.......instead just cut a standard full size sheet of sand paper into four peices.......so Far I have used this sander for several hundred hours......still running strong
