Product Description

Amazon.com Review

By separating steam generation from the iron itself, this system lightens the iron (no heavy water tank) and provides up to 90 minutes of continuous steaming. That means less strain and quicker work (no need for frequent water tank refills), an ideal combination when confronting heavy ironing loads or specialty sewing and craft projects. Connecting the iron to the steam generator's 32-ounce water tank is a flexible, 60-inch tube so the generator can be set on the ironing board or floor. The iron has a smooth-gliding, polished stainless-steel soleplate, a button for locking in continuous steam, a steam-burst button, vertical steam for ironing curtains, drapes, and hanging garments, and a fabric-selection dial. The steam generator provides adjustable steam power for control and flexibility, flashes a light when the water tank runs low, and has a lighted on/off button. A funnel and water pitcher are included for filling the tank. The generator and the iron carry a 2-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Product, December 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Black & Decker SG100 Steam Generator Iron (Kitchen)
I purchased this item at the beginning of this year and absolutely love it. You can use this iron for regular steam ironing or verticle items such as jackets and long evening dresses. This steam iron gets dried wrinkles out of cotton material and also allows you to hold a velvet blazer on a hanger and steam all of the wrinkles out of it too. I really love it and use it all of the time. I am purchasing one for my daughter for Christmas. I am sure she will love it as much as I do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wish it had lasted longer, May 29, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Black & Decker SG100 Steam Generator Iron (Kitchen)
Without question, this iron provides great amounts of steam and presses beautifully. I have had mine for 15 months, and it developed a leak in the iron. It is made so that it can not be taken apart in an attempt to repair the leak. For the money, I think it should have lasted longer. Very frustrating to pay that much for an iron that oly lasted 15 months.
