I've had this drill for a couple months now and i've used it for all sorts of little projects around the house with ease. The battery seems to last forever. The drill seems very durable. Its not big and not small, so far seems to fit everywhere i needed it to fit. The only thing that threw me off about the drill is that the battery gets charged in the drill. You plug a cord into the handle of the drill and the batt charges. Other then that, this is a perfect drill for someone who wants a durable, long lasting, reliable drill.

With two design changes I would have rated 5 stars. The first problem is the keyless chuck - it does a very poor job of holding smaller round bits. I have two other cordless/keyless drills that have no problem in this regard. I really can't understand why B&D allowed this deficiency in an otherwise quality product. This is the biggest problem with this drill - very frustrating to get a bit stuck in the wood while the drill is spinning uselessly. If you only use square shank bits, then this is still a very good buy.

The other lesser problem is with the charger. Contrary to another review, the battery can easily be removed from the drill and charged separately. However, the charger needed for this is not included in the box. Again, why B&D did not put this little inexpensive charger in the box is a mystery. Anyone who uses a drill for a project lasting several hours will want two batteries - one in use and one charging.

A small personal nit is the Smart Select feature - I would much prefer the more standard scheme for selecting speeds and clutch settings. But, I would not have down rated for this alone.

I bought this drill without much research as I simply wanted an extra drill for projects where I use multiple bits at the same time. I have several B&D 18V batteries (with the proper charger) and wanted to have the same batteries for multiple tools. And, the battery for the drill is identical to my other batteries for my weed cutter and branch trimmer.

I did go to the extra expense of buying a set of square shank bits just to use with this drill. It works fine with these bits.

Very Happy with this drill, small enought to get in tight places and I have yet to charge the battery, has all the power I need

The battery charger is integrated into the drill, this was not stated in the product listing. I have never seen a drill without an independent charger

it needs to be sold with a second battery so you can complete a job.

after drilling 3 1/4 inch 1/2 inch deep holes the battery needs to be charged.

Having purchased this through Amazon I expected better results. I have never had poor results
with other items purchased from amazon.

Purchased as a gift for an avid carpenter guy and he loves the power on the this 18 Volt. I was so sold on B & D ... I plan to pick up a 12v refurbished model for myself, at super Amazon price.
