pretty good tools for the money, May 3, 2004
This review is from: Black & Decker Shrubber Kit with Pruner and Bag DS600K (Lawn & Patio)
This is a good value because you get more than just the shrubber and you pay less than the shrubber alone. The shrubber itself is quite light duty, mostly for thin, new growth. The additional tools are standard issue pruners, but decent quality. We also bought the extender handle offered for the shrubber and it comes in very handy for reaching very high bushes which we couldn't get to before (and we had to pay pruner guys a bunch just to get the high growth). The bag it comes in is good to store all the items in. Definately a very good value for light duty trimming.

Black & Decker Shrubber Kit is a GREAT deal!, August 21, 2004
This review is from: Black & Decker Shrubber Kit with Pruner and Bag DS600K (Lawn & Patio)
Black and Decker went all out with this shrubber kit. I have no idea how they did all this for under $30, but they thought of everything. The pruner, bypass trimmer, and bag are great additions to the super capable cordless trimmer. They even include a pair of gloves!! The size of the trimmer is perfect for ornamentals and the charge lasts long enough to trim my entire landscape area in a single cutting. This is one of the greatest values I have ever experienced and Amazon is truly amazing to offer this kit at this price and into my home in about 3 days with FREE shipping.

A great value for the $20 sale price, May 21, 2004
This review is from: Black & Decker Shrubber Kit with Pruner and Bag DS600K (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this on a whim after seeing it for $20 in the "bottom of the page" section. My expectations were fairly low, but Black & Decker products are usually pretty reliable, and what's $20?
The accessories that came with the pruner were nearly worth the $20 alone. A folding serrated blade and a sturdy pair of clippers, along with a decent pair of gloves. The bag itself is quite well-made, and seems built to last.
The pruner is slightly underpowered, but it gets the job done on smaller branches. Don't count on the battery lasting long enough for very heavy jobs, but at least you can plug it in with an extension cord.
For $20, it's a heck of a deal if you only need this for light work. However, if you're going to do some heavy trimming, spring for something more powerful.
