Great product. Small and very powerful. Holds a charge all day while installing electrical equipment. I made a hook and loop holder for various bits and attached it to the drill so I don't have to stop and find a bit. B&D should include a bit holder to make it truly ideal. Has low speed for driving screws and high speed works well for drilling with small hex shaft bits.

Im an auto mechanic who recieved this as a christmas gift. I feel for the money it should have a adjustable clutch and a variable speed trigger.The unit is small and compact which makes it nice, and the battery holds a charge for a good time span. If this tool was 20 or 30 dollars a clutch and an adj speed trigger would not be expected, but for 50 or more dollars, these options should be standard. The button to reverse rotation is cheap and often takes a lot of pressure to change over. I also dislike the 5 or 6 hr charge time it takes to charge the battey. The trigger feels cheap, and i fear in a few months will be one of the first things to break. Overall for the money i would not recommend it.I paid like 58 dollars, and feel for a little more money you could get a much better tool from another manufacturer.

update- 2/27/08 i have returned the tool, due to the trigger breaking. The trigger would intermittently not operate the tool, it started to be once and a while then became almost every trigger pull. I returned it and will not purchase another one,it only had under 3 months of use on it

This product is perfect for common household tasks like drilling holes for hanging pictures and putting together those "some assembly required" items. The product is very light weight with the battery in (only 2.5 lbs) so if you are arthritic or have weak wrists like I do, it is the perfect tool. I am surprised this item is not carried in stores--it would make a terrific gift for the mom's and handywomen out there who need a lighter weight tool than anything I have seen carried at home improvement or hardware stores. It also has a nice carrying case with the bits in a removable velcro pocket. I highly recommend it.

I purchased the drill as an upgrade to the 3.6 B&D driver I keep with my field service tool kit. This unit has power and a long battery life. The lack of a clutch makes me nervous I'm going to break a screw head while setting devices into back boxes. Also the ease of the battery to fall out doesn't make it the idea drill to use in elevated areas with people working below. Until B&D makes a version of this drill that addresses these issues I feel this product isn't going to fair well.

After putting up a pair of Blinds with a heavy 18V driver I decided I needed a smaller drill for small jobs. First purchashed a 7V drill that you had to throw away when the battery quit working. Found this drill on Amazon and was able to purchase with free extra battery.

I was really amazed at the power this little drill has and the ease of use compared to a much larger 18V drill. Have used it for a number of small jobs since purchasing and am really pleased with the product.

Would highly recommend to anyone in need of a drill.

Very compact & powerful, I can drive a 3" wood screw without a pilot hole and not want for power! It has a 2 speed gear box low & hi plus forward & reverse, but it would be nice if it was variable speed, still it's a very nice unit & I am quit pleased with it, so much so I bought my wife one & she loves hers too.

Pricey-Excellent tool, light and powerful. Battery last long time and slow to dischard when not in use.

After using a "real tool" like my Hitachi driver, this feels like a toy that is not built to last. There is NO adjustable clutch and NO variable speed trigger... just two speeds. Nowadays, for the same price it is selling now or a little more, you can probably find a tool with either an adjustable clutch and/or variable speed trigger.

But if you need a lightweight, low-powered cordless driver, don't need an adjustable clutch, and don't need variable speed, then this tool may be useful in those limited circumstances... so I'm giving it 2 stars overall (instead of just one).

I actually caught this when it was on sale for $26.93. If I had paid $40-$50 I probably would not have given it 5 stars, but for the price I paid, it's a really nice little screw driver. Plenty of power for little jobs around the house. I just used it to install childproof latches on all my cabinets. Worked like a charm. Sure, it would be nice if it had a clutch or variable speed, but it does have 2 speeds which you can select. And speed 1 is slow enough that you can just do little pulses with the trigger for fine screwing. The drillbit/driver set that comes with it is handy. I used one of the drillbits to creat starter holes for my screws. So overall, I think it's a good little tool if you can get it for the sale price. Wish I had bought a few more to give as gifts.
