This Workmate is intensely useful, and it's an absolute must for any home workshop or garage. With a twist of the clamps, it grips firmly but gently and holds all workpieces securely, even oddly shaped or difficult-to-balance objects like windows, doors, and bicycles. The WM500 makes awkward painting and finishing job a snap. For extra mileage, try two -- and use them as sawhorses.
The WM500 clamps vertically up to 1-9/16-inch, and has a bench height of 30 inches. It parallel clamps up to 7-1/2 inches; this model offers parallel leg clamping up to 19 inches, and diagonal peg clamping up to 30 inches. Its work surface measures 25 by 18 inches, and it will support up to 350 pounds. It includes four swivel pegs to simplify the clamping and holding of objects with an uneven shape or unusual size.
What's in the box:
Black & Decker Workmate project center, four swivel pegs.

Excellent portable workbench,

This review is from: Black & Decker WM500 Workmate 500 350-pound Capacity Portable Work Bench with Wheels (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is my second workmate work bench. I use them both, usually at the same time. I often clamp a thick 2x2 ft piece of plywood to the top of one of them so I can drill without damaging the workmate if I drill too deep. The workmate is great as a portable workbench. I move them around my tiny work space and fold them up against the wall when not in use. The wheels are somewhat superfluous. The plastic cog inserts on the table top for clamping are handy for quick work but are not very precise. Clamps are better. The workmate does what it was designed for very well.

THE WM-500 works well and provides a good height for working on projects. It is simple to assemble, use, and store wgen not in use. It was received unlike the photo with out wheels and bottom tray. As such it functions only ss a workbench only and not an optional hand truck.

I purchased two of these and use them for all sorts of projects. I've used both of them as a saw horse and it supported the wood beautifully. The clamps are very tight and will hold a fairly heavy object in place. It's very sturdy and well made. One of the it's greatest features (unlike other benches), is that it folds up nicely to about a few inches and can be hung on the wall. This is great for when it's not in use. That's why I was able to buy two. This work bench can serve multiple purpose and aleviate purchasing separate saw horses.
