We like this trimmer and battery. Lots of power, truly like gas as B&D claim.

BUT

This is an old-style NiCd battery pack that lasts only 15-20 min, sold for top $$$.

OUCH!!

The supplied charger states that it is NiMh compatible, and can charge two packs together, but only NiCD packs with grossly insufficient capacity are sold.

Come, B&D, sell a 2009-tech battery pack for your fine 2009 trimmer.

WHERE is your NiMh battery pack for this product??

If you don't sell an appropriate battery, someone else will soon surely do so. It would transform this good product into an excellent one, able to run maybe an hour on a charge. Two such batteries would make this an indispensable tool.

WORST, the customer is left to discover the miserably short running time AFTER purchase. Be a little more forthcoming, B & D; it's good for your good name.

Very expensive product. Does give ample power. I can only get my batteries to run for about 15-20 minutes before they need another 8 plus hour recharge. So if you need more than 20 minutes power, or need to recharge before 8 hours....stay away. Stick with gas products for now.

I bought the Black and Decker 36V Recon. Plenty of power for 15 to 20 minutes. Needs 8 hr's to recharge. A second battery for the twin charger was only $20.00 less than my initial trimmer with charger and battery! A real pain in the wallet. Surely Black and Decker could provide a better battery or faster charger.

30% less expensive than buying from the manufacturer, the only other place I could find this battery.

I really liked the performance of the trimmer but, I only got about 20 minutes of run time, I was disappointed. I was about 3/4 done with my yard when the battery ran out and I was running it wide open like a gas trimmer, next time I'am going to try the varible speed option and will probably be able to finish. This trimmer has so many good things going for it just one drawback, battery run time. I thing Iam going to keep it and work with its limitations thats how much I hate noisey hard to start gas trimmer. Come on Black and Decker give us a better battery !!

These batteries have plenty of power but only last for about 20 minutes each. You can always tell their time is up because the trimmer will start shutting down continually. I think that for $100 I should be be able to get an hour's use out of each battery. As it is it's 20 minutes work time, 8-10 hours downtime. However, the trimmer is outstanding and powerful and I knew of the limited battery time going into the deal. This is why I bought the second battery, which I highly recommend having.

The NST2036#XR360 Black&Decker 36 volt2.4 amp hour Nicad battery pack is performing as expected, It charges within 4 to 6 hours if not completely depleted.When depleted it usually takes approx. 8 hours to recharge.unless your use to lifting heavy objects,the battery along with the trimmer can be cumbersome. The harness strap that is attached to the trimmer should be used. It gives you the power of a gas trimmer just as the manufacturer states. If you have a fairly large piece of property to trim I recommend a second battery.

Owners of Black & Decker Heavy-Duty 36-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer #NST2036 should immediately buy one of these batteries if they want to get any sort of life out of their product. Until B&D decide to go with a better battery technology, this is the only thing we've got.

I received the package very quickly and the item works great!! I was hoping for a product with this quality and without imperfections!

I agree with the comments here about inadequate battery capacity. It is obvious B&D's marketing team was hard at work thinking folks buying a premium trimmer would just open their wallets when we were just tired of their other wimpy trimmers. They could have included a quick charge unit as is the case with cordless drill battery chargers. But no, they figure its better to spend money on a dual battery charger so you'll buy another battery. (sorry not taking the bait) B&D does not include cutting string diameter information anywhere so you have to purchase pre-wound $17 spools. (sorry not taking the bait) Some calipers took care of that, I am winding my own spools for less then $1 each. All in all great power, just trim over 2 days.
