4.0 out of 5 stars Well Made 3 Season Backpacking Tent, February 14, 2012
I looked at many makes and models to replace my 20+year Moss tent. I first tried the MSR Hubba Hubba on a week-long west coast trek and returned it for the BD Mesa which I much prefer. I use it as a single but it will fit 2. In addition to weight, it has several other good points:

1) It is longer than the Hubba Hubba - it will accommodate a tall person.

2) Much stronger inner tent materials and seams as compared the Hubba Hubba. Less mesh and more nylon has been used. The sidewalls come part way up from the floor in the Mesa - less dust and spindrift in the tent.

3) It is easy to set-up, even in the dark and in the wind.

Note that the vestibules are only large enough to cover a pair of boots - the pack stays inside or up a tree.

You can find lighter tents however I wanted one that will last in service like my Moss. Only possible downside would be the colour - It comes in mustard only. I'm accustomed to that now.
