More About the Author

Brittani Williams was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where she currently resides. She began writing when a school assignment required her to write a short play. This assignment showed her how far her imagination could go and it also helped her escape the drama of an unhealthy and abusive relationship between her mother and stepfather. With writing only being a hobby Brittani grew into an adult and attended a few different colleges. Writing still stayed a hobby but she strived for a degree, unfortunately she could never settle on one that fit her interests. 94 college credits later, she's taken Nursing Prerequisites, Education classes, Paralegal Studies and Fashion Design Majors and still had yet to find what she loved.

After much encouragement from family, friends and co-worker alike Brittani, now a single mother focused on writing again while on a break from school. She completed her first manuscript in 2005 which was titled Automatic Princess. After months of research she found a publishing company that she wanted to submit to. She submitted the manuscript and received a quick response. Within four months she had signing a two book contract with Q-boro books, a publisher in Queens NY.
The last two years have definitely been a blessing for Brittani with the release of Daddy's Little Girl and tons of great feedback from readers all over. She has had the opportunity to participate in two anthology projects Fantasy (Urban Lifestyle Press) and Flexin' & Sexin' (Life Changing Books) with some of the hottest authors in the game. With the release of Sugar Walls, her sophomore novel she had four projects in circulation, all released in the same year. In 2008 she's coming back even stronger with The Cathouse, a novel that she co-wrote with authors Anna J and Laurinda D. Brown in June 2008. Her next novel Black Diamond will be released in December 2008 on Qboro books with a sequel to follow in 2009.

Her next venture is starting her own publishing company, Trendsetters Publications, a Philadelphia based company that will publish fiction novels in the genres of Urban, Erotica and Contemporary. The company will release four novels at the end of 2008, two of which are the first two installments in a teen series written by Brittani called The Pretty Committee. The series will focus on many issues that teens of today experience and will be able to capture those that have moved on to adult books without them feeling like the books are for children. With this teen series, she plans to do a school tour and also plans to start up a creative writing scholarship for her Alma matter, Dobbins Vocational High School, in Philadelphia.

Now, this is a career for Brittani and she's found what she loves. She dreams of becoming as successful as some of her favorite author's and one of her goals is to score a major publishing deal in 2009. Brittani is the mother of a six year old and is currently hard at work on more novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Waiting For!, January 9, 2009
This review is from: Black Diamond (Paperback)
Raw: An Erotic Street Tale

I first heard about this book in early Fall, and when I read the description, I was like...hmmm.....gotta get this one. I bought it as soon as it came out right after Thanksgiving, but didn't have a chance to read it until after the school semester was over.
Man....this book was good!
Black Diamond is a story about friendship AND so-called friendship. Love and hate. Sistahood and backstabbing. Pay-offs and Pay-backs.
This is a book that I would definitely recommend! I was immediately caught up in the drama!
I disagree (respectfully!) with the reviewer who said this book paints black women in a bad manner. Since when does someone read a book and says the characters represent all black women? I'm sorry, that doesn't make sense to me. But at the same time,,,,come on....we do all kno one or two women like Diamond. We might not want to get too close to them . . . but we do kno them!
Keep up the good work, Miss Brittani! I can't wait to read yur next!

This was a good read, Diamond and Mica had their fair share of men. I hope in bood 2, we find out how Diamond's mother died and why Diamond's aunt hated her mother so much. I really enjoyed this book. I think Diamond had a harder life than Mica. The men in these ladies life was something else. Waiting to read part two.

Black Diamond will have your attention from page 1 until the end. Diamond and Mica were once best friends until a tragic event brought their friendship to an end. Both ladies went their own way and had to endure different tragedies in their lives. Another tragic event brings the two women back into each other lives. Diamond and Mica both have a motive with hopes to gain wealth and live the fabolouse life.The question is who or will anyone come out on top.You will have to go out and pick up your copy to find out what happens, it is worth every penny.I really enjoyed reading this book. Later going to start on Part 2 because I have to know what happens next :-}
