ultra-distance poles have terrible tips. so far i had to replace 3 out of 4 (on two pairs). These tips are a great replacement strategy. The only reason i'm taking away one star is the difficulty of replacement and lack of instructions

These tips fit hiking/trekking poles for black diamond that are over 2 years old. They are the long style which digs better in soft terrain for a better grip than the short style tips. Tips made in the last 2 years are sized smaller, so these are the ones if you have the older poles. They last well with the strong metal tip and are easy to install once your other tips wear out.

Fairly cheap, easy to put on with some boiling water and a rubber mallet. Haven't broken after 6 days of so of use. Plenty of bite in icy conditions.
