This Super 8 is very good. The paint wears out after ten or fifteen long rappels but those who don't mind a little "battle" scar will love this device. Definite buy if you don't own a Super 8.

I bought this item for rappelling. I used it several times on a rappelling wall, and it worked great! Unfortunately, when I was about to use it on real rock, I accidentally dropped it off a thirty foot tall cliff and had to retire it. I am soon going to get another one. Great job, Black Diamond!

I really like Black Diamond products so I bought this figure 8 belay. The metal finish is not as smooth as I would've liked so I'm only giving it 4 stars. Over all a good belay that works well and I can trust my life with it unlike cheap imitations.
