Easy to adjust.

The way that the handles feel in your hand and the how the shock absorbers deal with impact is the most noticeable and welcome feature.

I would highly recommend these poles for serious hiking.

I am an avid hiker and have always used inexpensive poles. This is the first pair of high quality sticks that I have tried and the difference is quite obvious. The poles are easy to adjust and they stay put once the lever is engaged. The way that the handles feel in your hand and the how the shock absorbers deal with impact is the most noticeable and welcome feature. I hike in very challenging environments and these have done a terrific job. Very good price to quality ratio.

I'm a big guy who hikes at least once a week.

These poles have held up to five months of use with no issues.

I like the firmness and solidness of the adjustments, they haven't come loose or slid out of position at all.

The shock absorbers work. You can feel the "absorb" from time to time. Occasionally I'll bottom them out. Not sure if they're worth extra money or not.

They're pretty low maintenance, just wipe the shafts down with a soft cloth to keep dirt/dust away from the adjusters.

I'm very happy and will gladly recommend them to a friend or buy another pair!

This is a very good pole for the price with the anti shock feature, But can't say this is a light weight pole like other review say. To me is almost 30% heavier than my Leki Makalu titanium I brought it in 2006. I forgot how much, I think is about $80 or $100 a pair. Anyway, this Black Diamond Trail Shock do provide firm grip in any position. And the lock adjustment design is better than the twisting type. the anti shock works well. I am a small guy and I got the compact version but still long enough for my 6 foot friends to use it. Everything is good except the weight.

My Black Diamond Trail Shock Trekking Poles are an excellent product that I keep with me in whichever vehicle I am using. I originally bought them for weekend hiking excursions. This winter I intensified back problems by heavy lifting; and I have found these trekking poles to provide excellent, cushioned support for city sidewalks. Adjustment of the poles can be a little finicky and the poles can shorten under pressure if you haven't locked the sections tight enough. A little experience, however, quickly accustomed me to the amount of pressure required to lock the sections and keep them from sliding with respect to each other.

The poles collapse to a short-enough length that a belt clip would be easy to use to keep them constantly present. I'm very pleased with these poles; and I greatly appreciate their shock-absorbing capabilities on concrete city sidewalks.

This is the 2nd pair of Black Diamond trekking poles I bought. They are just as sturdy and reliable as usual. Hiked 18 hours using this pair, very comfortable holding the handles, light weigh and compact for traveling, and the locks are secure that you can totally trust the poles. Love it.

Strong and light. I was worried that the weight of the flip locks would bother me but their convenience and strength make it any easy trade-off. My wife has a much more expensive and lighter pair from another company but likes mine better.

bought for the wife here is what she had to say:

1- like the color ( Jade ??? purple to me )
2- like the weight
3- love the feel of the grips, the straps and the extra foam below the grips for droping hand down when going up steep trails

4- adjust easily to just my size (5-6" ) with longer length avail if need.

Not much I dont like except ....they should come with both metal feet and rubber. You have to pay extra for the rubber.

would recommend to friends and family

no problem with shipping or seller

Well, these are certainly better than no poles, but the handgrips really get too warm--my hands sweat. I unfortunately left my old ones which I had for over 10 years, at a trailhead never to return. These are lightweight, but the handgrips do bug me...
