Stars of the Negro Baseball League, which flourished before Major League Baseball became integrated, share their stories. The program opens with a tongue-lashing of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame for not including more Negro League players. Afterwards, Harris can barely contain his laughter recounting players' antics on and off the field. He also speaks reverently of their feats, which surpass those of many Hall of Fame inductees. Harris's miscues in reading the text give the program a slightly unpolished effect but are a minor drawback. Baseball fans will enjoy this lively program full of laughs and historical value. M.P.T. The stories included herein are gems, but the weak writing of the compiler Jon Holway doesn't provide the fine setting to display them. The audio version is a big improvement.
