A Depressing Look at an Important Subject,

Sowell, writing from his own experience as a student and teacher, and his research into U.S. education, documents how the black community in the U.S. is betrayed by those who don't really care if black students learn anything in schools. Especially important is his note that many black parents don't care about education.
This book was published thirty years ago, and since then it's mostly gotten worse. A national scandal, and a tragedy.
