We bought this little guitar for our son's 7th birthday. Came quickly and in good shape. This is a great little learner guitar. You can't really play cleaning as the action is loose for kids and string bend is a little overwhelming. The amp also has a decent sound. I am also in the recording industry And this would be a great tool to have just to make interesting noises. Holding the belt amp against the pick ups and you are ready to join Sonic youth. Over all this is decently made and great for kids to grasp proper holding and finger placement and for the enthusiast to have fun and make noises. I would recomend.

Bought this for my 8-year-old son as a starter guitar. The guitar is good - small size, nice sound and holds a tune well, but the amp is a joke - a wire snapped when we installed the battery, and there is no power adapter included. We got an adapter and all that comes out of the amp is static. If you buy this, plan on getting a different amp - this one is a piece of junk.

This guitar requires an adaptor for the amp power (not included in kit and no mention of needing this). The amp is real scratchy with the 9V battery.

This Item wud be good for a preschooler or kindergardner who just wants to make noise. I bought it for my 9yr old. I thought it would work as a starter guitar for him to learn on, However the action is to high and the guitar will not hold it tune. So for me it was a total waist of money. :(

It's impossible to tune this guitar to standard tuning; I kept breaking the high E string when trying, a friend who's a professional guitarist couldn't tune it either, and two different sales people at a local music store couldn't tune it either. In the end, they left it at a weird tuning (2 or 3 tones under standard tuning), which makes learning from books an additional challenge, and even then, the strings are so hard/tight, it's ludicrous to believe a 7 or 8 year-old would be able to learn using this guitar. AVOID!!

I need to get a guitar strap for my grandson. I wrote to best products and they said the strap was in the amp box. When I checked there was a strap which I thought was the guitar strap but realized at Christmas that it is the amp strap. Will I ever get the guitar strap that was missing from the beginning and I also never got a packing slip or receipt.

Well, like many others said, it is impossible to set it up. the neck is actually warped (from left to right) and the truss rod does not do much.
nothing to do with the strings, it is the neck and the constructions itself!

The guitar is very hard to tune, the amp does not keep power. You have to shake it or hold it at an angle. Truly annoying. For $50.00 more I should have gotten my son a full-sized guitar of higher quality. I will most likely get him a reputable used guitar off of Craig's List. He can use my amp!

I bought this for my 9 yo son for xmas. It is the perfect size and a great starter instrument. We bought him a book on the basics of playing a guitar and he is off and running.

This was a Christmas present for our 5 year old. The guitar and amp are a nice combination and I appreciate the volume control and the amp having an adapter for head phones. What I didn't expect was how heavy the guitar is, and no shoulder strap came with the set. Because of the weight, our son has trouble playing without sitting down. There are pegs for a strap to hook onto, so we will invest in one, but I was disappointed something small like that didn't automatically come with it.
