I would like to start off by saying,..... if you have watched the videos on you tube with the destruction of these knives,........you are not understanding exactly what these knives are for in the first place.YES these knives can hold up to alot but when will you ever see someone trying to survive by chopping a concrete block in the wild?Exactly.........these knives are for survival but there are lengths that these knives will hold up too.You can dig holes,sharpen wood,cut your game kill,rope,and,many other uses.Please do not be fooled by those videos,.this is a very well made knife and i would suggest you buy one if you are a true outdoorsman.I am an ex military soldier and would not rely on anything else.A great price for this knife,maintain it well and,it will save your life.

I gave this knife to two of my best friends. It is excellently engineered, solid through and trough, with a sharp blade, and perfect balance. The Kydex Sheath is very nice, as it is light weight and has a built in locking mechanism. Overall I am very pleased with this knife, and I believe my friends are even more so.

I received a twin set of these amazing knives after graduating from high school. These were a huge step up from the Smith and Wessons that I've had for years, not saying that I don't owe my lives to those knives a few times over, but these Ka-Bars are in a class all their own. They hold an amazing edge and are sharp enough to cut paper out of the box. They are perfectly balanced and have a great feel they're not like any knife I've owned, after getting a good feel for them they become more of an extension of the hand then a tool. Overall I would stake my life on these blades and they are well worth the price.

First things first, this knife is absolutely amazing. However I did have a few questions about this knife before I ordered it! and those questions are....

The Handle - I was concerned about the Kraton handle before I ordered. I went to Bass Pro Shops and touched, felt, handled all the Ka-Bars I could find. I liked the leather handles on the Marine and Army commemorative knives, however I don't like how leather wears over time. My dad has knives that are over 30 yrs old and the handles no longer exist, and I don't know about you but I want to buy a knife once. I was also concerned about the grip, I wanted something that had a solid feel and wouldn't slip. I was surprised when felt the Kraton handle for the first time. It had a better grip compared to the leather. Very slip resistant. The butt of the knife was very solid as well, can be used as a hammer. I cant say much about the weathering issue because I haven't had the thing for 30 years, but I will update when the time comes.

The Blade - Well what can I say, the blade is 1095 carbon steel, very hard. I find it a little difficult to sharpen but that is to be expected from a knife like this. I prefer no serrations as well (even harder to sharpen). I dont like the look of serrations and have never honestly used them, so whats the point. The blade looks mean as well, very intimidating. Its impossible to not be satisfied with the blade.

The Sheath - This is by far the best feature of this knife. The sheath is a hard plastic, very tough. I LOVE the no slip feature of the case!!! When the knife is secure in the case its very hard to get out unless you firmly grasp the handle. In other words, it wont fall out of the case. This feature is important if you do a lot of hiking deep in the woods. The last thing you want is your knife to fall out of the sheath when your bending over to lay a deposit with nature. Also has lots of holes for straps.

There you have it. This knife can anything you want in the woods. I love this knife like my own son, if I had a son. Ka-Bar lives up to the name.

Before I received my Kabar, I was tossing and turning all night. Now I get my best and most restful night's sleep... Thanks, Kabar!

I love my K-bar, I use it for camping all the time. It is nice to have a knife around your waist that is also being carried by the military.

Nice nife, fairly heavy duty, sharp and has good thickness to support mutiple uses. I would not call it a combat knife for it can not be sharpened on the off side. Well worth the money

Great blade. I bought it some time ago and its held an edge rather well. Its solidly built as is expected from KaBar. The sheath is great and I love the duel hold of the sheath itself as well as the little snap at the top.

I used to have one of these years ago for an all around camp knife but it "walked Away". Looked and found this one and its just as rugged as the first one I owned. Use it and abuse it. Its an outstanding knife.

very well balanced, comfortable, holds an edge for a while, and at a fair price. out of the box the knife doesnt have a very sharp blade but i went to walmart and got one of those yellow $3 sharpeners and it put on a nice edge (at least for a $3 sharpner). if you have any problems with this knife, or any other kabar, kabar has amazing customer service and will take care of you.
