5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime, September 5, 2009
This review is from: Black Flowers (Audio CD)
This recording is nothing short of sublime. It chronicles songs from some of Canada's most beloved folk/pop singers (e.g. Leonard Cohen), set to an orchestra with Sarah Slean providing some absolutely lovely singing. The result is beautiful. Featuring extraordinarily lush arrangements and orchestration, this record never stumbles. It is predominantly melancholic, but always splendid. It may just bring a tear to your eye. Get it, and you will be rewarded with some truly special music.
