Book Description

While nearly everyone else at Heath High is preparing for prom and graduation, Grace Shelley is coming to terms with the end of her relationship with Robert, the angel who saved her soul, her life, and then broke her heart. It's not easy, especially when she can't escape his thoughts.

But Grace has other things to worry about. Like her friend Stacy's cancer, and her best friend Graham's ex-girlfriend, whose attacks on Grace and her friends only seem to escalate with each passing day. And then there's Samael, the Archangel of Death, whose own death after his last attack on Grace had been revealed to be nothing but a lie.

When Samael tries once again to finish what he started, Grace finds herself having to rely on Robert for help, something that forces the both of them to confront the lies that exist between them. But, as Samael closes in on not only Grace, but also on the people she cares about, she learns a secret that forces her to make a decision that changes not only her, but the very world she lives in.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed, confused September 1, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am an avid reader and stumbled across the first two books in this series and loved the characters and story behind them. Believe me when I say, that I was anxiously awaiting the release of this third book amongst other fans and thought I would love it to say the least. Please believe me, when I write, that I really, really loved the first two books.

In this installment, Grace is heartbroken over what Robert hid from her and doesn't care if he did it to save her life. It kinda baffles me because what he hid from her, if you want my opinion, really was nothing, and I've read a ton of other books where the thin line between truth and lies were much more gripping. Nonetheless, to each her own and this character was heartbroken over the hidden truth of it all. Grace is super stubborn and its was quite unnerving if you ask me. The repeatitive dialogue of what happened in the past books; feelings, history on what took place, constant lengthy description of simple emotions were a bit much for me and i wanted to skip through pages altogether. I don't even know where to begin or end with this book. The writing seemed fragmented and pieced together and the plots not thoroughly thought through enough to cover all bases so that the reader can understand how things happened or why things happened or fell into place as it did. Some of it seemed a bit ridiculous at times, like yes, of course you want that gripping, gasp as you read it type of sinister deceit, but this was just a little too much for one heroine to take and it didn't even make any sense? I could've said way more but I think it may be way to critical to write and I'm hoping the author can bring it all back together in the next book and fill in the gaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the next book.. August 28, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I can't imagine anyone being disappointed if they loved the first two books of this series. Once again there is immediate action and it only stops with the last word! It is hard to not skip to the end and find out what happens but the enjoyment from reading it from start to finish is worth the much anticipated wait. The final installment needs to come out tomorrow!!!

First of all, I was so happy that this book came out early. I took a risk with the first book buying it because the author is virtually unknown (right now, I doubt it will stay that way), and there weren't really any reviews when I purchased the first book. However, it was $4.99, and with a price like that, definitely worth the risk. I was sold. Completely in love after the first book.
After reading the first two books in the series, I was anxiously awaiting this book. I fell in love with the characters in Falling from Grace. Each book left me wanting for more. This particular book was fast paced from the start. You always hope with series that one of the books won't disappoint or let you down, and so far, I haven't been disappointed at all -- quite the opposite, in fact. This book immediately got hy heart racing biting my nails to find out what happened next, I only put it down when I had to (I have kids, a job, and must sleep, afterall), but as cliche as it sounds, I did not want to put it down. Now that I've finished it, I want to re-read the series all over again. I won't spoil anything for any of the avid readers out there, but there is a major cliff-hanger at the end, and I am overjoyed that the fourth and last book comes out in December. Just in time for Christmas! Yay for me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps getting better!!! September 1, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This series is by far my favorite! I loved Falling from Grace and Bird Song. Now Black Halo is exciting from the very start! The characters all have such great depth and not predictable as characters in other angel series. I read a lot, and this series I love so much I have read it several time in waiting for her next book.

If you haven't been reading any of the other books in this series, read Falling from Grace, Bird Song and then Black Halo. It will not disappoint you. Grace is a girl who is somewhat of an outcast at her school because of her heritage and unavoidable circumstances. She goes through some devastating events that lead to her meeting Robert and their fates are forever intertwined. Their relationship pushes the boundaries when she encounters repeated attempts on her life and betrayal of people she loves. Her destiny is set out on a dangerous path but can she and Robert survive the trials they will both face.

I hope the next book comes soon, I can hardly wait for more from this author. A job well done to you, S.L Naeole!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Freaking Awesome August 31, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Black Halo is the third installment in the Grace Series and trust me when I say you won't be disappointed. I loved it loved it loved it!

We continue with Grace and Robert and their doomed love story. Grace remains angry at Robert for his betrayal for about 1/3 of the book before she eventually forgives him. Danger is still lurking (Sam) and Grace is still waiting for her inevitable demise. Lark and Graham continue their budding relationship, Stacy is getting sicker and Erica is still a nut job. There were so many shocking moments in this story and you are on the edge of your seat quite often. There were moments where I was laughing, crying, shouting and OMGing all over the place.

This was one of the best stories I have read by an independent author or published author this year. I also love Amanda Hocking and Melanie Nowak. Thank you Amazon for bringing us these very talented and gifted independent writers and their incredible stories.

As I said for the second book, same with the last two. AMAZING. Had me on edge. But isn't this book very similar to Starcrossed? Or is it the other way around?
