A 21st Century Sci-fi/Horror Classic!,
This review is from: The Black Hole Experiments (Paperback)
The first story of this book, based at the end of the 21st century, explores the discovery of a pulsating alien artifact, UN astronauts/scientists stumble upon, while making scheduled explorations of unexplored regions of Mars, and the investigation of it and a miniature black hole that it holds in its confines, in a UN laboratory.
It explores the staggering idea of if scientists and the most highly developed technology and intelligence available can really locate answers to what and what function such an object has from what would in reality exist. Can they perceive a pulsating metallic sphere, of unknown and unbreakable material, with no notable openings, is a chamber that is enclosing a miniature black hole, spinning and weaving about? Can they determine that is left by an ancient race of aliens that explored this universe, and these galaxies, thousands of years ago? Within the opened alien sphere, it magically suspends gleams of light, motionlessly in mid-air. A clock held at the end of a cable, of translucent material, has its precision digital numbers frozen in fuzzy multidimensional forms (in a suspended cluster of partially transparent layers), as it is edged into the miniature black hole, creating many spectacular optical effects, making it distort in twisted forms. The scientists explore it, with what they have, but will they ever determine what the alien artifact is for? Is it dangerous? Is it beyond anything that they can understand? Can they send anything into it? Can they remove anything from its confines? Will they enter it? What exists in its deep black depths?

This review is from: The Black Hole Experiments (Paperback)
The story The Black Hole Experiments gives you the remains of a futuristic civilization, which the travelers find, but they find alien beings instead of humans. Have they killed humanity off? Have humans moved to another world and given it to them? Or are they some form of new species of human that mankind has altered into over millions or even billions of years?
