About the Author

Russell Stannard is Emeritus Professor of Physics at the Open University. He has travelled widely in Europe and the USA, researching high energy nuclear physics. He has received the Templeton UK project award and spent a year in America as a visiting fellow at the Center of Theological Theory, Princeton. He was awarded an OBE for services to physics and the popularisation of science. Married with four children of his own and three stepchildren, he vividly remembers the excitement of discovering Einstein's theories for the first time and he is dedicated to passing this inspiration on to new generations. The Time and Space of Uncle Albert was shortlisted for both the Science Award and the Whitbread Award, and his books have been translated into seventeen different languages. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

My 7YO reads these on his own and comes back to me with interesting science tidbits. I like the way the author takes some very complicated and mind-bending topics and uses imagination to make them approachable for younger readers (and sometimes their parents).

My 7 year old is FASCINATED with black holes and science. I bought him this to help him continue his reading. Some of the topics brought up are a bit over his head, but he gets through it and said he really loves the books.

Bought this book for my grandkids. Really great read at nap time or a good night relaxing story. The flow of the story is quite good. A good read for the adult who does not know much about black holes.

My granddaughter reads anything and everything. Her mom suggested this series for Christmas. It arrived on time and in perfect condition.
