I've had this Dockers black leather jacket for over 4 years now. It was starting to get faded all over. I live in the freezing north so it got a TON of use. Mostly faded on the shoulders and arms and back. And I use a backpack for college everyday so I had these lines from the straps of the backpack.

Anyway, this product worked WONDERFUL! I buy amazon all the time and never leave feedback but I really wanted others to know about this since I searched all over and there's tons of products.

I have a big jacked, XL, and this bottle was plenty, I actually have a bunch left over. I was worried I might have had to buy 2 bottles, but I only used about 1/2 for the whole jacket.

Not only did it make my jacked uniformly black but it made it shiny again. I used it last night so I cant say if it will last super long, but it actually stains it so I don't see it coming off anytime soon. Thanks Black Jacket! HAHA!

Update: Its been about a month and it rained and snowed a couple of times, it still looks brand new again, nothing seems to be fading or wearing off. Im amazed at how this product works. Thanks again :)

Update #2 (4/7/2011): Its been over a year now, The jacket still looks great! I still have half a bottle of this stuff stored away if I ever need it but I suspect it will last alot longer :) Very happy :)

I have a black 3/4 length jacket - that was about to be discarded.

I gave the Black Jacket - One Step product a try.

It worked as advertised and has very little odor. The coat looks new!

The only issue - it only comes with one plastic glove - so my other hand took on some of the color.

With some scrubbing my hand is also good as new. The company should supply another glove.

I would use this product again and I do recommend it.

This product shipped during cold weather and came frozen. It got grainy but still worked. I am disappointed that it was grainy and the grain is felt on the coat. I would have returned it if I would have known this. After submitting this review the Pacific Leather Works company sent me a new bottle and explained how to remove the grain on my coat even though this was a shipping problem. I was not expecting this type of service and am very impressed that they stand behind their product. I am extremely satisfied and would certainly recommend this company and product. It is great to know there are companies out there that provide such great customer service!

I bought this not to darken my black jacket but to change it from brown to black. It was a challenge but I had the customer service support from day 1 when I asked if this was possible. The knowledge and depth of advice was eye-opening and encouraging. The speed was impeccable. It really assuring to embark on my project once we established that it was posssible given my expectations. I bought 2 bottles to be sure that I would cover all the surfaces at least 2 - 3 layers.

This is my first time doing this. I see some streaks due to my rush at certain points where I didn't wait long enough for it to dry and went over the painted part before it was ready. My fault, but overall. I'm happy wih the results. The pigment seems to have bonded well. We'll see how it holds up after some use. As mine's a relatively new blazer, so it was easier to apply (less oils on the leather) and it'll take a longer time to prove itself than say, a motorcycle jacket that will see harder wearing.

The advice given was very helpful for me to prep the work before I started.

This product works great. I had taken my black leather jacket to a few drycleaners to ask about redying it to get the scuff marks out, but nobody could really help. They wanted to send to a special leather manufacturer for a few weeks, and couldn't even give me a price. For around $20 this did the trick perfectly. So glad I saved the time and expense and got such a terrific result! Definitely recommend.

I am very pleased with this product. It was easy to use (as other people have noted, you need two gloves) and made my leather jacket which had a lot of graying around the seams and edges, look like new. I was concerned that there would be streaking but there wasn't. I would highly recommend this.

When I ordered this I was skeptical that it would work but it really does indeed work exactly as advertised. However, I would recommend going to your local Dollar Tree and picking up a pack of latex gloves and sponge (similar to the one they include). It will cost you $2 plus tax and make using this product much less frustrating.

The only thing I will say is when I first got this I just wanted to get rid of a small scuff on a double breasted black leather top coat that I've had for 15 years. If you use this product on your jacket then you're committed to redoing the whole coat. However, the end result is absolutely stunning.

Great product for my leather jacket that was starting to fade around the collar area. Worked great with the first application. I highly recommend this product.

I am not an emotional type, but I have to say, I just LOOOVE this product!!!!

My background is in apparel design and I have to confess to being a bit of a clothes and accessory horse. I buy good quality timeless pieces and want them to last. Black Jacket has so far totally restored 3 pieces I loved but thought were done.

1) A fabulous heavy vintage distressed leather jacket that was starting to crack and had lost a whole lot of color.
2) A beautiful vintage Gucci bag. I was a little nervous to use it on this but it restored it to like new condition.
3) A beautiful old quilted leather Betsey Johnson Bag is also like new again.

I have just come back to order 2 more bottles for me and 2 for my Mom who, after seeing how beautifully Black Jacket restored my garments, had to have her own black magic.

Can't wait to go through the rest of my closet and restore belts, shoes/boots, other bags and jackets.
It is sooo great when a product lives up to expectations....This one far exceeded mine. I just wish I had taken a few before and after pics to post but will do so after the holidays when I do some of the other pieces.

One more thing...This is also a great company to deal with. I am a little particular, okay very particular about the products I use....I don't want to use anything toxic, with lead, or that would come off on my clothes. I emailed the company prior to ordering with several questions. They responded quickly and couldn't have been more helpful. My package also arrived very quickly.

So, lots of kudos to a great company and phenomenal product! (:

This product worked perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. I have owned my black leather jacket for close to ten years and it was really looking like its age. I didn't want to purchase a new jacket in this economy, so I thought I would try this product first. My jacket looks like it is brand new. It was a very easy application; just like polishing shoes. I highly recommend this product.
