I bought this stroller today out of desperation. (I was shopping out of town, and my 3yr old was feeling sick and didn't want to walk anymore)

I bought this stroller today out of desperation. (I was shopping out of town, and my 3yr old was feeling sick and didn't want to walk anymore)

I figured for $80 I didn't care how bad it was.... BUT it's NOT bad at all! In fact, it's pretty darn good!

Some of the features I like:

- Indivually reclining seats. (It says there are two positions, but you can actually do 3) My 4 month old had no problem sitting up in the upright position and the reclining position was great for napping.

- I LOVE that they used an actually clipping mechanism for the reclining positions and not the zip cords like so many stroller company's use now (Even the pricey strollers) ... You can never get an actual upright position with the zip cords!

- Middle handle bar (like the older Maclarens) makes it so much easier to push.

- Parent Cup Holder (A bit small, but not smaller than my cup holder on my Peg Perego P3)

- Toy holders on each side. (One for my 3yr olds toys and the other for my daughters binkies and rattles)

- Easy to steer and cleared every doorway I encountered

- Soft Seat Padding, w/ roll up backrest. (Rolled up makes a great pillow for napping toddlers)

- Nice color scheme

- SO SO SO Compact!!! I can't stress that enough! Easy to fold too!

- I also like the open concept, with NO child trays..Just one more thing for my 3 yr old to climb on!

Some things to keep in perspective:

- Some have complained that the hoods don't close properly, while I agree, the Maclarens have the SAME problems.. I think it's just a fault of the duo umbrella strollers! If you unsnap each side before folding (Leaving the middle snap in place) you won't have any problems.

- Some have complained that there are no shopping baskets beneath the seats... BUT if there were they would be almost impossible to access. (My Maclaren baskets were impossible, and the Peg Aria basket drags on the floor sometimes) PLUS you can use the middle handle of the stroller as a bag hook!

All in All, I am totally satisfied with my purchase! I can't believe I hadn't tried this before! I could have saved myself SO much money!

5.0 out of 5 stars nice umbrella stroller, March 25, 2005

We have a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 month old and we wanted a double stroller without the extravagant expense. We chose this one because it is convenient to travel with due to its size and weight. It reclines enough that even my 4 month old can lay comfortably. I love the fully movable, adjustable canopy; it comes in handy to keep the sun out of my baby's eyes or to block the wind if necessary (with a blanket for added protection on serious windy days). The back lining also rolls up into a pillow and reveals a mesh backing. This is a great feature for warm days since the regular material is not breathable. Definitely worth the expense if you are tired of chasing your older child around the stores!

4.0 out of 5 stars It serves it's purpose!, March 14, 2006

After my 3 year old started preschool, I had to take my twin boys 13 mos in/out of the school with me 2x/day. Boy! I immediately got this online because my back was killing me with the constant heaviness of my 'bigger' double stroller. This one is light, and serves it's purpose. We take this one most everywhere, unless we are on a longer outing which entails bringing 'more stuff.' This umbrella stroller is tricky to fit in lots of doorways, so I find myself going through the door backwards as an easier maneuver. Wish it had some compartment for storage, but, hey...it is an umbrella stroller.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 stars, great umbrella double, June 17, 2005
By
This review is from: Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller (Baby Product)
My twin sons will be 10 months old next weekend, and we have ownded 3 strollers so far!

First was the double snap n go, I'm not sure if that was the brand, but thats what it was (borrowed from a friend). Well that was GREAT for infant carriers, but the boys started to become TERRIBLE car passengers at around 6 months, they could still fit, but HATED that seat... So we could no longer use our lightweight, and convinient stroller.

So we tried the DuoGlider... This was a MONSTER. I dont understand how ANYONE could use that thing. I didnt use the cupholder (well, rarely atleast) hardly EVER used snack trays, the basket was large, but I certainly didnt need that either. Evenutally the wheels began to fall off, and we had enough, after only TWO MONTHS.

So we finnally purchased the Jeep, it had just the bare neccesities, and I found that to be just fine for us.

First of all, this stroller is very lightweight. I can carry it into the trunk of my van, or my husbands car, upstairs, up hills, where ever, such a relief! It takes two hands to fold, or a hand and a foot... it folds well and small, easy to fit packages around it, even if you are lacking space in your trunk. Its also easy to manuver. I found that turning it and pushing it couldnt be easier. It turns surprizingly well, and the wheels are pretty tough! It rides smoothly on any indoor surface, and can handle playgrounds, zoos, sidewalk/street, and even the boardwalk or gravel! But I really wouldnt plan to take this on "rocky terrain", its not a stroller to go hiking with, but certainly can be a city, subarb, or rural stroller. I found the handles to be at the perfect hieght for me and my husband, although we are average hieght... try it out at the store before you purchase (but there is a nifty stroller accessory that you can but to attatch to the handles, and offers a new set thats about 2 inches taller). The stroller seats are large enough for a 6 year old, but are also able to hold my premies easily. The vinyl is a bit slippery, but the boys dont slip to the end, and the shape makes it easy for them to sit in it. Its also SUPER easy to wipe up the seats, which is excellent with babies! I also found that the roll up feature was great, you can roll up the vinyl into a "pillow" and it reveals a mesh side for those warmer days. The seats also reqline indepentantly and easily. Definatly not fully, but enough to get in a good nap. I also found that the stroller fits through most any doorway, the only troubles we have had were/are with bathroom doors/stall doors, revolving doors (not much of a surprize) and small boutique like shops (flower shops and smaller "markets"), but other than that it can fit through most any door.

These are the features that are not found in this stroller, but not nearly a CON, just something you can work around. First of all there arent snack trays for the kids. We either give them finger foods that they can hold (i.e teething cookies, grahm crackers, grains like bread and cookies, and other clean foods) or we will give them Cheerios in zip lock bags, and only open it enough to get a hand in (we use the one with the "sliding ziper" and just staple at the part where we dont want it to open anymore) this is easy for the kids (almost 10 months) to hold and not a big deal if dropped (smaller hole means less likely to make a mess). Or you can purchase an accessory kit that will come with a snack tray... With the lack of a cupholder for the parents, we either place a water bottle (filled with any beverage) in one of the smaller pockets, or we use this water bottle that we bought a CVS (drugstore) for about $5 that has an insulated cover with a handle to hang on the handles.

There are 3 problems that we have faced with it though. First of all the canopys are completely ridiculous. They dont cover a baby at all, but I will say, in their defense, that they certainly arent too low, so we just purchased a black add on shade, something we keep in the trunk or the closet, so if we go out on a sunny day we can just attatch it... good thing the jeeps canopies are removable! I dont mind the lack of storage, but its definatly still a "downfall". There are two pouches on the sides, one holds our drinks (sippies and water bottles) and we were able to put an icepack inside to keep them cold. The other pouch is great for storing keys, cellphones, wallets, "binkys" (a.k.a pacifires), and a few knick-knacks. I also was able to purchase two mesh baskets to hang on the handles, and attatch to the back so it doesnt sway. I am able to place a vinyl bag (very thin may I add, one you can find at Modells or something) and it holds our baby bag supplies. The other is great for blankets and such, those bags are easy to find... so that really shouldnt be a problem. You can also keep "light weight" bags on the handles. I mean that you can only keep a maximum of about 6 lbs on the handles, so dont go shopping alone with this stroller (which I dont do anyway, I always go with SOMEONE, I dont know of anyone who does extensive shopping with two toddlers any how).

But my only real CON is that theres a lap belt for the kids rather than a 5 point. As of now its proved sufficent. The boys dont climb out or fall out, but it probably will eventually pose a problem. I have looked for a solution, or a way to rig up extra shoulder straps... so if anyone has any ideas would you be kind enough to post them? Or else my husband will most-likely be able to figure out something.

I hope that my review has helped you with your decision, whether to buy it or to decide against it. I feel that if you want an easy to use, lightweight, comfortable, simple stroller, this is for you. But if you would like the extras like 5 cupholders (exageration), large canopies, snack trays, large baskets, and 5 point harnesses (wish this stroller had one!) than purchase another stroller, which is fine also. But I would DEFINATLY recomend trying a stroller out in the stroller with your children, or if they are unborn, a friend or families child... But in our opinion, its a great stroller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Double Stroller!, March 13, 2006
This review is from: Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller (Baby Product)
This is a great stroller! I have a 4 year old and 18 month old. They both love to ride it in (although the 4 year old is starting to prefer walking). It fits through all door ways, turns corners SO easily and folds up so small. It doesn't have storage but the middle handle is great for holding shopping bags and/or diaper bags. We mostly use it for occasions that I know the 4 year old will get tired of walking or needs to be "contained!" But when we go with just one child or are going somewhere the 4 yr old can defintely walk, we take the Jeep Urban Terrain stroller (3 wheel w/front wheel being a swivel) - another GREAT investment!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't my first choice, but I wish it was!, July 14, 2005
This review is from: Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller (Baby Product)
I purchased this fantastic stroller after a horrible expirience with another double.

My children are now 5.5, 2.5, and 7 months. I had a few bad experiences with my older double, but never with the Jeep.

I love the sleek design, especially the red outlines... We purchased the Jeep with the 3 point harnesses, but about a week 1/2 later we saw the "newer" 5 point models at BRU, and thankfully they made the exchange (I had the receipt in my "just-about-to-burst" wallet). The new model is very well designed, pretty much the same as the 3-point... The seats recline very close to fully down, so most children should be fine. The seats recline with one hand, and its very easy to do. As almost every review mentioned, the Jeep also has special seats, the vinyl rolls into a pillow, and you are left with a mesh seat, but you still have full use of the harness. The canopies are high, and protect pretty well, considering I can adjust them to rest in front of my toddler and baby, or directly overhead... I can see how they would be inferior, but I purchased two clip on shades with the purchase of my first Jeep stroller, just in case. Well that "just in case" never happened as of yet, so I dont think the canopies are as terrible as all the other reviews suggest. I also love the two pouches on the sides of the stroller... I am able to fit 2 diapers and a pull-up, and a travel wipes case and pacifiers in one of the pockets, and in the other I can stuff a bottle, a sippy cup, and a few of my things are stuffed into both. That's how I go to the park, or to pick up the kids from camp or school. When I go out to the mall or something, (anywhere for over an hour) I can use my back-pack diaper bag, and un-attach the handles so it can be re-attached to the "X" on the back of the stroller. Packages are easily hung on the handle bars, and they dont tip the stroller.

As far as the strollers size, its perfect! I can fit it through an average doorway, but obviously I hit troubles at the restroom, and in between the smaller racks in the clothing department, but this would happen regardless of the double I owned. It does fold with 2 hands, or if you want to struggle you can fold it with a hand and a foot. Opening it takes 2 hands, or you can EASILY unfold it with a hand and a knee or something. I can "stroll" the stroller single handedly, and I can turn easily with both hands. I can go over cracks, grass, gravel, and even the wood chips found at my mothers house... yet the stroller keeps on moving.

We love the Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller, because its easy to use, and comfortable. *** We did purchase a cup holder for the handles, and plan on finding a compartment for the handle bars as well***

4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and compact, September 2, 2005
This review is from: Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller (Baby Product)
While my husband and I both agree that this stroller is lightweight and folds up nicely for storage, it is not comfortable to push for a taller person. My husband is uncomfortable when he pushes this stroller because the handles are so low, and his feet hit the middle wheels. At 5'4", this is not a problem for me. Extensions for the handles would make this a better buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stroller :), February 4, 2005
This review is from: Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller (Baby Product)
we like this stroller Our twin boys are now 16 months old and we've tried them all, including the one now we have that we just bought, except earlier age of the twins..

We still wish there was some sort of EXTRA storage, but the handles are suitable for setting a baby bag on it ;)

I love the new colors! and design, exspecially the cusion on the backs of the seat rolls up to a mesh back and that helps in warm climates !!!

4.0 out of 5 stars All we need in a double, June 30, 2005
By
Bailey (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller (Baby Product)
Now that my 7 month old twin sons have more head control, we were recently (about a month ago) able to ditch our larger than large SUV double stroller.

Like the other reviewer said, I have the SAME EXACT stroller, but I too have 5 point harnesses, and a cup holder (for the "driver") on mine...

The basics...

* Both seats recline nearly all the way with a "pull string"

* The seats are vinyl, but that "cover" can roll up to expose a mesh backing

* There are canopies for both children, and they dont adjust

* We have a 5 point harness, although some do have the 3 point, so I suggest purchasing your stroller in the store to ensure you get the "model" that you would like. If you do purchase the five point model, using it as a 3-point is an option as well.

* The only available storage are two small pockets on the sides of the stroller

* It folds pretty compactly, but with a complex system

A few of our opinions

* The cup holder is pretty much useless, it is very weak and also makes it quite difficult to get through doors

* As of squeezing through doors without the cup holder, its pretty easy, only problems are through small boutiques or restrooms

* The small storage pockets are similar to the compartments found on travel systems, the ones people "rave about" having their keys inside and what not

* The handle bars aren't really too tall, but tall enough for me (5"4) and my husband (around 6"). They also have comfortable grips on them

* The seats are large enough for my 2.5 year old daughter, but try it out because they may be too small for larger children or older toddlers

* We found that the stroller isn't very lightweight, but easy enough to lift into our car/SUV, and push up hills.

* Folding the stroller isn't very easy, and defiantly takes two hands, or a hand and a foot at the least, but once its folded it fits into smaller spaces easily

* Its not for off road adventurous, but it can handle indoor surfaces, sidewalks/streets, dirt, grass, gravel, sand, and the boardwalk...

* We were able to purchase two bags from Modells, one layer is vinyl, and the outer layer is mesh. They dont attach to the "X" shaped back of each seat, but rather underneath the seats like baskets that close. One is a "diaper bag" while the other is a "purse".

* The canopy issue was a big one. They dont cover the heads of the boys at all, and aren't removable. We couldn't adjust them, and they were in fact too high for them (I am sure a tall 6 year old could sit in the stroller without "banging" their head, just saying in height, not in width as mentioned before). We solved the problem by purchasing another flexible "fabric" cover that attaches to the far sides of the stroller, making it one large shade that adds protection (and are available in black!)

I love the Jeep, and with the five point harnesses, it makes it safe... Its a sturdy stroller, and defiantly "enough" for our family
