Black Lace is a great trilogy to Beverly's other 2 books ("Edge of Dawn" and "Edge of Midnight"). It was great to see that Drake and his brothers (Mykal and Saint) are still brothers in evry sense of the word. Also good to get updates on Sarita (Myk's wife) and Narissa (Saint's wife). Drake and Lacy are a great couple who are very much in love with each other. I love the fact that Drake is the more conservative of his brothers; he's also a little cocky (in a good way) which serves to lighten the mood. Lacy definately keeps him on his toes...I love her confidence! This novel was well written and readers will not be disappointed. A great love story and mystery. I look forward to more!!!

Black Lace was so hot that it was burning my hands as I was trying to read it. Beverly Jenkins is one of the greatest writers of romance she knows how to keep her readers begging for more of her books. Drake, Mykal, and Saint knows how to take there women to the throes of some very hot passions and mind bending trillers of adventures and desires if you found this book not to your liking then girlfriends all I got to say to you all is this go out and find yourself a Drake, a Mykal, or a Saint, have yourself a great passion and some adventure and then come back and tell us you didn't like this book. A 5 star rating is not enough for this book

Black Lace,

Beverly Jenkins is a true romance diva icon and I just hope this is not the last of the series. Black Lace was a great, quick, hot, and fun book and I feel Beverly should take a bow with His Fineness story. Lacy's run in with Detroits Mayor may have been a disaster for her escort but it opened up a romantic adventure bringing them together for the good of their fair city and the passion of their heart.
Drake gave Lacy a lesson in love never learned in her first marriage to a man who only cared about his satisfaction over what he could give his young and impressionable wife. Drake may have been torn between whether he wanted to seek re-election but he was sure he wanted Lacy and when her life is in danger after her campaign to clean up the city from the toxic waste that's made the city it's dumping ground even the playgrounds, things really heat up between Lacy and Drake as he does his all to protect her and their growing love. This book was wonderful as all the Beverly Jenkins books I have on my shelf.

Loved this book! I hate to see the trilogy end because all three books, the Edge of Dawn, The Edge of Midnight and Black Lace were just superb. This is how romantic suspense is supposed to be written. I have no idea what those other reviewers were reading, but it couldn't have been this book. This was a funny, fast-paced, HOT read. Try it, you'll love it, too.

Beverly Jenkins takes us into the life of Detroit's Mayor Drake Randolph after hearing about him in the stories of his brothers' lives but as we take a look at his stories we realize that he isn't much different then his brothers accept he chose to handle his battles a little differently but just like both his brothers he has realized that when it comes to the women he loves he will use any means necessary to keep her safe and out of danger.
Lacy Green had a disturbing life before she moved to Detroit but being a strong fighter and being the person she was determination kept her moving and never held her back from doing what she believed in when the Mayor's limo runs her off the road she shows Drake Randolph exactly what type of women she was. Drake Randolph was getting his way and had never really knew what no was so when Lacy told him no to most of his advances he became more determine to win her heart. Beverly Jenkins writes a story with a purpose and a reason she has become the romantic suspense tell it like it is author of the city of Motown. We hope to see more come from Mrs. Jenkin's as she continues to celebrate her celebrate writing career for being an outspoken advocate through her writing.

I read this book in one sitting. It's fast, intriguing and very, very sexy. The dialogue was crackling with wit, the characters were well-drawn and believable and the storyline was both timely and exciting. I loved Lacey and 'His Fineness', Drake. Their chemistry was undeniable and the way it unfolded was sensually satisfying. Ms Jenkins continues to astound her readers with her ability to create books that are so readable you can't put them down until you're. Brava, Ms Jenkins, you've done it again! Thank you for another exciting romance suspense.

What a wonderful story.... No one can write a love story the way that Beverly Jenkins can. The attraction between Drake and Lace was magical. I really enjoyed the story. However, I must admit that I was expecting more excitement but I realized that Drake was way different from his brothers. I also loved the way she tied in Indigo, the story of their grandparents with this story.
I am looking forward to hearing about their father. As only Ms. Jenkins can do there is a whole lot to this story waiting to be told. Peace and Blessings!!

Well, I must say that upon reading this book, I felt like I was a part of the Vachon men's lives. This book was wonderful and exciting. However, I think that there was a bit more intrigue to The Edge of Dawn than to this one. Passion, passion, passion. WOW! I am looking forward to another Beverly Jenkins book. I am about to buy the others that have been published before.

I very much enjoyed Drake's story. And as always, good to catch up with everyone else. What I enjoy about the series (Black Lace, Edge of Midnight and Edge of Dawn) is that each touches a very interesting topic. Reminds me a bit of The Wire. I am glad Ms. Jenkins told each brother's story (in regards to their biological father).

I read the novella, Rhythm of Love: You Sang to Me, enjoyed it so much that I decided to read another book by Beverly Jenkins. My yearning for more of Ms. Jenkins' work was satisfied when I finished Black Lace. The chemistry between Lacey and Drake aka "His Fineness" rose off the pages. Good story.
