My first and main complaint about this product is that it does NOT fit the 60gb iPod Video. The 60gb model is thicker than the 30gb, and this case won't close around the 60gb iPod. A secondary complaint is that, though the case is sturdy and the foam lining will adequately protect a 30gb iPod from shocks, there is no protection for the screen. It's just a hole in the case (like the hole for using the wheel), and I just require more protection for my video iPod. A third (minor) complaint is that there's a non-removable knob on the back of the case, for attaching the belt clip, and the knob makes it uncomfortable in a shirt or pants pocket. I'm returning mine for all of these reasons and going with a clear hard plastic case that protects the screen, too.

Works well and was extremely inexpensive. A lot cheaper than the brand name version they sell in stores.

This case DOES NOT protect your iPod. The cheap aluminum bent as I was opening the package it was shipped in, the belt clip shattered as I was clipping the case to it, and there is NOTHING to keep rocks and dirt from destroying your very expensive device. Not to mention the first time I accidentally dropped this case, it FLEW OPEN, sending my $300 iPod skittering across the floor. Buyer beware... =-/

This case was purchased for use with an IPod Video 60GB.

The case was sturdy and nice looking on the whole. I was worried about it scratching up my IPod but it came lined with felt and a piece of replacement felt. It was easy to use, the click wheel is very accessible, and no part of the screen is covered by the edges of the case. That said, the case needs to be significantly redesigned to be considered a good product. As others have mentioned it most certainly doesn't fit the 60GB. There is a simple snap-clasp on one long side that is supposed to keep it closed, but with my IPod in the case it is not even close to closing. There is about a 2 mm. crack all around the case that lets in all manner of dirt and dust, besides allowing the IPod to shift in the case. One of the good things, the felt, quickly began to peel off around the edges and especially in the corners from the shifting weight of the IPod. Also, while the metal of the case is thick enough to be protective, the edges were not finished off well. I have sliced my finger more than once spinning through playlists - nothing terrible, but like getting a papercut from a thick birthday card. Finally, the belt clip is terrible. It might as well not be there it's so useless. The clip slips off the "button" that attaches it to the case with the slightest of bumps. Even clipping onto my pocket backwards (with the case actually in my pocket and the clip showing on the outside of the pocket) did not stop the clip from popping off the case. Also, it has no grip. Clip it to anything, thick or thin, and you can easily slide it off with the push of a finger. Because the clip swivels the weight of my IPod has actually caused it to simply slide and drop off when I've had it clipped to a belt loop.

This case does not serve the whole purpose for which it was designed. A simple protective case - if protection is all you're looking for - can be had for less than we paid for this one (at Amazon) and won't come with the annoying addition of a clip that won't clip on and a clasp that won't close.

All this thing ever did was cut up my thumb when I ran it around the click wheel. I seriously cut my thumb on it 5 times before I got pissed and threw it away. WASTE OF MONEY

I bought this item along with the Belkin Protective Screen Overlays for iPod 5G, 5.5G (Clear). I placed the overlay onto the front of my 30gb video iPod, and placed the iPod inside the case. As I don't use belt clips I simply discarded it and cut the knob off the back of the case. As I don't carry my Ipod in my hand over hard surfaces I don't worry about dropping it and the case coming open. I carry it in a pocket. The reason I bought this case is because the screen protector in my Speck rubberized case would no longer stay in place. This was a perfect solution for me. My only initial concern was that the case is so satiny smooth that it would be easy to slip out of my hand, but like I said, I don't handle it over hard surfaces, and I handle it very deliberately. I've never, ever dropped it, and I've had it for a few years now. However, as I write this review, I notice that the wrong picture is now displayed for this item. That needs to be fixed, Amazon.

When i first got the case, it wouldn't fit my 5.5 generation ipod. I had to bend the case a bit in order to have it fit securely. In addition the pin for the hinge would fall out at times, but the most annoying bit of construction was the clip. It is has no teeth that grip on to any sort of material. I 've had the case fall from my hip. The last time this has happened, the clip broke off and now i couldn't put it back on if i wanted to.

This is a great case for when you want a little extra protection for your IPod. I also own the silicon case, the leather case as well as this case. I use this case when I am outdoors and doing yard work or as the music source during a party. It is a nice, heavy duty case that keeps the IPod well protected. Also, it does look nice and modern as well.

well the case is sturdy as a rock but the clip is super delicate I broke the clip when i was trying to take it off in the first 2 weeks of having this product.
