Editorial Reviews

The Uncut and Uncensored Directors Version of Black Metal Veins unflinchingly documents the dark realities of despair and morbid self annihilation surrounding the lives of five heroin junkies. The addicts' intertwining stories of pain, loss, sadness, and abandonment lead the viewer down the agonizing and hideous path of horrifying psychological and spiritual destruction as the grim disease of heroin addiction infects and decays the bodies and minds of five young people.

Gripping movie from the start. Raw footage show how drugs can take over and write it's own story about your life if you allow. Train bit true. Compliments to the director of this documentary.

This movie is unbelievably annoying to watch, given the cuts and clips mentality of filming. So that you really never get a chance to view or hear any complete conversation or dialogue. The "characters" and I use the term loosely are sad, depressing and after about 15min of viewing i hoped they would all overdose and save the world from yet another whining bunch of degenerates that contribute nothing to the world except there own self loathing. The funny part of this film is when the one female whom i assume is at the sexual call to every male holding a whiff of dope, goes on to explain that she had a "Great child hood" but than not more than 5 frames later she confesses to being raped, not knowing her real dad, and pregnant at age 15, sounds like a fantastic childhood to me. Than her male counterpart says he also had a good childhood, but watched his dad shoot himself. For a movie entitled black metal veins these people sure like to put themselves upon any cross in the vicinity and, have the world feeling sorry for them. For people in search of a real documentary not a bunch of soft handed children vying for attention check out union square or dark days. The director Lucifer Valentine should change his name to Shirley Temple, much more a menacing title.

I pre-ordered a copy of Black Metal Veins as I was so entirely impressed with the previous (far better) Vomit Gore Trilogy. But BMV is a huge disappointment. We get 90 plotless minutes of watching extremely unattractive addicts sit around b*tching, nodding off together and having rather boring sex with each other. Even the scenes that are supposed to be ~shocking!~ drag and appear staged as all hell. Also, where the hell is the black metal? Long story short, BMV disappointed me in every way I can think of. And that's a huge shame coming from a director who has the talent to make much, much better films than this.
