Based on other reviews I had at least moderate expectations for this game. I was very disappointed. The voice acting was not good. I have played games with worse (but not many). The plot was thin but acceptable. The puzzles were generally acceptable, but often required going back again and again to old places and pixel hunt for objects that had become active since the first time (or second or third...) you were there. The worst part was that the game play CRAWLED. Many times you had to just wonder around waiting for the game to decide that enough time had elapsed for a character to finish a task and allow you to interact with them again.

I had a good time playing this game, it was not like some of the games that are short, this one was pretty long. Lots of different places to visit and puzzles to solve. I think it was a great adventure game.

Good Mystery,

Great mystery game. A little violent for my taste. Also it got a little monotinous having to go back and forth conversing with other characters in order to move forward in the game.

Black Mirror is playable on XP, but I didn't find that it would play on a newer Dell Computer, given its finicky copy protection software. I tried to load it onto a 2009 vintage Dell computer with no luck; then loaded it successfully on a 2000 HP. Guess that this game was created quite some time ago, and maybe its getting a little unpredictable today. Also, the "walk about" game style was cutting edge a few years back. Now it seems slow and tedious, with no ability to speed the character through his paces.
Its a fun game, if you have the patience, and it has plenty of personality. I went to it to find an eerie or "scary" game along the lines of Dark Fall, and I didn't go to its successors without playing the original. I'd say that it was not quite as captivating as Dark Fall, but it has its fair share of interest and fun.

I am an avid adventure gamer, and have played nearly everything I can get my hands on , so I was very excited to play this game after the reviews, however I have never been able to get it to work.
This game has a copy protection system called Starforce that pretty much does not only keep you from copying the game, but unless you are a computer hacker won't even let the original buyer install and play it even if it's a brand new game!!!!!!!!! After trying several times to get around it, and even going to Starforce's website for help (which they say it must be user error because their product is nothing but amazing) AND having my computer crash and having to pay $300 to get it fixed...I gave up and it's just sitting still waiting to be played. BEWARE. This game is nearly impossible to install and play. Also, after doing a LOT of research, I found out that Starforce can actually harm your computer and can download things you may not approve of without your knowledge. I hope some other people have actually been able to play it! It looks fun. I wish I could get it to work...

I knew what the game was - so I got exactly what I expected. The game is full of beautiful graphics and I just wanted to have fun going through. I completely rest playing the game - just what I needed for my vacation. The only thing was that the main character is sometimes rude and he speaks in some rather irritated tone - I think that the main character should be more patient and kind, something like Nancy Drew. But everything else was fine.

This game is a must-buy for Adventure Game Players. No other adventure game genre has such length and details. There are a few tricky puzzles to overcome that will try your patients. Everyone who I have talked with says this is there favorite adventure game. There are many chapters. Most recent adventure games are too quick to play and are not always worth the money.
