I absolutley love this book. It is not often that a book of this quality geared toward African American children is available. The illustrations using an African American Humpdy Dumpy are the most impressive. I read this book to my neice until she got old enough to read it herself. I feel that she had an interest in this book because the characters resembled her.

I chose this book because exposure to diversity is important. I have had several mother goose books but never this one.My family is made of many nationalities, each rich in their own culture. The pictures are nicely done. I was a little disappointed, I felt there could have been more nursery rhymes, the book is on the thin side.

This book was given to me when I was just three years old. As of now, it sits on my bookshelf. I was looking for books to purchase for my little nephew that's about to be born into the world, and I happened to stumlbe across this book on Amazon. I was told that it was OOP. I hope my nephew keeps this book as long as I've kept my copy.

My family truly enjoyed sharing time together reading this book. Twelve years later this book remains on our shelf.

I purchased this book years ago for my children, and I have been searching for a new copy for my grandchild. I was happy to find a copy here on amazon for a great price. It is a great reading aid, and fun as well. Be aware that the inside pages are in black and white unlike the cover. The one drawback for me was not being able to find a hard-covered copy. Otherwise, this book brought back precious memories, and it will be sure to create even more. I would recommend it to anyone with a young child.

I love giving this book to all new mothers to encourage bonding and reading to the baby. I also like the fact that the children get to see images that look like them, African-American.
