Black Mountain Best Dulcimer Kit, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Black Mountain Best Dulcimer Kit
The only problem I had with assembling this kit was when glueing the top and back to the sides I had to buy clamps to push the sides in to the liner blocks in order to ensure consistant overhang all the way around the instrument. Not to do so would have resulted in sanding the edges of the top and back considerably to make the overhang of the top and back the same all the way around the instrument. Also, the statement made to the effect that no special tools are needed is misleading. The instructions say to use masking tape to clamp the pieces after glueing. It does NOT provide enough pressure to ensure tight seams overall. I used six clamps to accomplish this step. One at each end of the instrument and two on each side above and below the "waist" of the dulcimer.
