As a retired military guy, I've used paracord much of my life. Well, just the past 45 years.. This appears to be the right stuff and has thousands of uses around the home, camp, hunting, and you name it.. Good price.. Arrived quickly. I bought the black and may also get a roll of the OD and white. If you need paracord, this is a pretty good deal..

This product was exactly as advertised. No fake 550 cord here. Seven inner strands, tightly wound. I would highly recommend this item.

I purchased this paracord to use in my business of making Firestarters/Firesteels. I use the paracord to make lanyards for the handles, (and it works great). I got a very good deal as I had a couple of rebate cards and along with that the paracord qualified for free shipping as well. To sum it up it was a deal I couldn't pass up and I have no regrets. The paracord is of top quality, nothing cheap about it what-so-ever. It meets the military specifications easily, has the black out side sheath with 7 inner strands. It is perfect for so many different things, (basically whatever you can think of). Considering I got 1,000 feet, it will last me for a very long time. If you're looking to buy paracord, you can't go wrong purchasing from this seller as the product is genuine. With it qualifying for free shipping, that's another bonus as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this paracord again.

I just love paracord. Give me a good hank of paracord, duct tape, and a paperclip and I'm prepared to survive the apocalypse. Or so I would like to think. All kidding aside, this should be an essential part of your disaster preparedness kit for home, work, and auto. It's also part of my camping kit, whether backpacking or car camping.

Why paracord instead of a hank of nylon or sisal rope from your local big box store? Capability. For its size, few ropes can match its load capacity, pound for pound. Speaking of size, paracord is almost ideal, for while it can always be doubled or tripled for handling increased load, it is also very space efficient. When fashioning emergency shelter, for example, you need something that is incredibly strong, not necessarily incredibly big. You can carry much more footage per unit of space with this stuff than with larger rope, and that's important when putting together kit that needs to stay portable. Even the construction of paracord makes it more useful: within the tough outer tube are seven non-braided individual strands (which are in turn themselves made up of two braided strands, each consisting of individual filaments) which can be used as component parts for other things that require smaller rope, or even thread. Need some emergency fishing line? Paracord. Need some emergency repair sewing on that backpack or tent? Paracord. When out and away from civilization, paracord is the one thing I will always have as part of my gear due to its broad and outstanding utility.

So, this paracord I ordered is exactly as shown in the picture and as described: Seven-strand milspec 550 paracord (black in my case). It came on a 1000 foot spool, which was perfect to distribute among my various kits for home, auto, and camping. The spool looked exactly like the one in the photo, which was nice. I've had occasion to use it already, and while I can't say I've tested it at what should be its limit, it has performed flawlessly. I'm very happy with this product and would purchase again if I needed more.

As the title says, it's paracord. Just like other Mil-Spec paracord. Durable, hundreds of uses, and at a great price. The 1000ft roll is a great economical way to get it, is high quality cord, and will serve many purposes.

It's hard to review this paracord any higher than others, but the cost / length combo make this a great deal, and it seems to comply with all standard specs. Why wouldn't you want 1000ft of it? :)

One thing I can say is that the spool is actually a bit smaller than expected, which is a good thing, and shipped quickly and in good shape. 5 stars.

Advertised as mil-spec but when I got the product I noticed that all the product labels stated commercial not military spec.

This product would be awesome if I was actually trying to buy commercial para cord.

I gutted a small portion and compared it to the stuff I already have. Identical....

550 type III commercial OD paracord.
Emphasis on "commercial".

This is not genuine MIL-C-5040 Type III cord.
Mil-C-5040 requires that one of the internal strands have uniquely colored identifier thread.
This cord has 7 (two ply each) inner strands with no uniquely colored identifier.

True MIL-C-5040 Type III will cost you about $100 per 1000 ft spool.
That cost is largely due to extensive testing, quality control and documentation required by the military.

This commercial 550 is good strong cord and perfect for what I want it for.
This was the best price on the web when I bought.
I'm putting a couple 50 ft hanks in each vehicle.

At first I was worried by some of the reviews, but I ordered it anyway. This IS 7 strand cord. Great stuff!

This is good quality 550 paracord with a white 7 strands core. The inner strands are tightly twisted and the black nylon sheath is tight fitting as good paracord should be. I've used about half of the 1000ft spool and have not seen any imperfections.
