A Jewel,
By Luv2Read "imareader2" (Baton Rouge, LA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Black Pearl (Arabesque) (Paperback)
"The Black Pearl" was filled with romance and intrigue. Katherine and Martin are drawn together in a tangled web of love, passion, and deceit. Martin - is a man plagued by what he thinks is a mistake he made in the past that may well haunt him in the future and could cost him his new found love -- the beautiful, alluring Katherine. Katherine - is a woman filled with an inner sight. A woman who must face her fears, as well as her love for the man of her dreams. "The Black Pearl" will enthrall you. Ms. Craft has combined a measure of romance, conflict, and suspense to keep the reader motivated.

Great Read!,

I loved this story. I think I have a great liking to historical romances novels. Craft did a great job. Katherine and Martin's love tale was just great. They got together for a good cause but in the end Martin showed Katherine that he truly loved her! Good Stuff!

I liked this book. My only complaint is the main female character sort of lived in a fairy tale world, and the author's writing did not flow well at times. However, I thought the story was good one. She educates the reader too. It's substantive.
Mrs. Craft's book was copy righted in 1996. I am a fan of Beverly Jenkins and her book Captured is very similar to Black Pearl, which was released in Sept. 2009. I wonder if Mrs. Jenkins lifted some of Mrs. Crafts' ideas? The similarities are too much to be conincidental. I abosolutely loved the art work. I give it a 5 star. The couple are in period dress and look first class. It seems that authors today have a thing for half naked folks on the cover, with lust in their eyes. It is so tasteless and soft pornish. I am embarassed to walk around with such books in public. If you can get a copy of this book, I am sure you will love it. |
