The book recounts what we know of the lives of Haji Mubarak, the Ethiopian servant of the Bab who was present on the night of His declaration to Mulla Husayn; Fiddih, the devoted maidservant of the Babs wife; Isfandiyar, the only manservant to remain loyal to Bahaullah after His arrest and impreisonment in Tehran; Masud, faithful servant of the Bab who attained the presence of Bahaullah and became a steadfast believer; and Salih aqa, the Berber, who served in the household of Abdul-Baha.
