Julian Shabazz's book, "Black Stars of Professional Wrestling" is long, long overdue. It is a very interesting and fascinating book about these great athletes' contributions. To read the stories about such great competitors as Thunderbolt Patterson, Bearcat Wright, Rocky Johnson and the Junkyard Dog is a tremendous thrill. If you are a true wrestling fan, you will learn things you didn't know. This is truly a marvelous book!

I enjoyed this book very much.I was never aware of wrestlers like Bearcat Wright who fought for desegregation in wrestling.I also enjoyed reading the profiles of Junkyard Dog,Jacqueline(my favorite),Ernie Ladd,& Ron Simmons. The only drawback of this book is that Mr.Shabazz should have done more research on the wrestlers that were mentioned just by name.Overall,if you're a real wrestling fan who wants to be educated on the Black wrestler & their accomplishments, pick up this book!

The book was very interesting it gives you alot of history about black wrestlers that you never saw on t.v. It also showed that when given the chance and given that big push that black wrestlers can become big stars in the sport of professional wrestling. This book also tells how hard it is for black wrestlers to make it in this sport. I also enjoyed the poster of the all black female wrestling show. Mr.Shabazz I would like to ask you one question when you mention Hardrock Hamilton was you referring to Larry (Thunderbolt) Hamilton because Mr.Hamilton is a good friend of mine he also worked for Championship Wrestling from Florida in the early 80's and then throughout the southeastern part of the U.S. He been promoting wrestling shows throughout Jacksonville now for over 10 years. His wrestling promotions was Pan American Championship Wrestling now he calls it World Wide Wrestling. Also to all black wrestling fans this would be a great book for Black History Month.
