Thought I had gotten a bad unit at first. Only ran for less than a minute, then stopped. Changed battery and reset time and it did it again. Project was replacing unit in wife's favorite clock with same mechanism. I used the hands from the old unit, they went better with the clock and were a perfect mounting match on new unit, and, it turns out, bent the second hand a tiny amount putting it on. The second hand was hanging up on the minute hand, which was why it only ran for less than a minute. Un-bent it and it runs flawlessly. I thought it was brilliant sleuthing on my part. Of course it was my ham-handedness that caused it in the first place.
