Ease and Comfort: Grab, Glide, Click

This R-Strap is worn diagonally across the torso from shoulder to hip, and adjusts to fit most photographers. The length adjuster is located inconspicuously at the rear of the shoulder pad. Included is a stainless steel FastenR which fastens to the standard 1/4"-20 tripod socket on the camera body or lens. Once fastened the camera hangs upside down, resting securely at the photographer's hip, stomach, or at the small of the back. The R-Strap system distributes weight sensibly, and contains dense foam padding for unparalleled comfort.

The Sport integrates seamlessly with your style and as a result, you can make more of the moment and not have to worry about your gear or missing shots.

Top-Shelf Materials

High-quality materials are used throughout this exceptionally crafted Sport Strap. Materials include a polyester base with ballistic accents and an underside of 1cm-thick TPE foam padding with fused knitted polyester mesh.

Easy to use and keeps camera ready when not in ue.

The system for securing the strap under the armpit works very well and is reasonably comfortable.

This is a much easier on your neck strap than the one that comes with the camera.

If you're reading through reviews of this product you're either deciding if you want to upgrade your camera strap (stock)for a sling-type or you've already made that decision and are trying to figure out which BlackRapid to buy. If you're still thinking on buying a BlackRapid stop... just buy one and feel the difference. There are tons of reviews already that talk about the enormous difference compared to the regular straps. This means having my camera with me (and ready to shoot) for almost ANY situation, without all the problems with the regular straps.

I first bought the RS-4. I decided to use the strap for just grabbing my camera and go. No lens, no tripod... just in case I see a good photo opportunity with my kids. Having storage at the strap was interesting for me. I checked some reviews and videos and the RS-5 looked too bulky so I went immediately for the RS-4. Comparing the RS-4 with the normal strap you notice right away the difference. It was comfortable BUT it felt a little bulky. Also, it tended to crawl from my shoulder to my neck. Not big deal but I thought something more like a "banana shape" pad would be better. Then I went back to my search and started thinking on the RS-7.

I noticed the RS-Sport and I had previously discarded it because I was not planning on biking, climbing, running... with my camera. But the BRAD was not a bad idea for extended periods of time usage. Since I needed one for Disneyworld I decided to return the RS-4 and take the slimmer Sport 2. WOW... now THIS one is perfect!!! The shape makes all the difference in my opinion. Without the BRAD it's very comfortable and I take my camera to kids soccer games and short trips or whenever we're outdors or gatherings. I used the BRAD for Disney and it was great...

We bought this strap to replace the neck strap that came with our D5100. This is my first experience with a sling strap so my review is from the perspective of someone considering this over a neck strap, not someone weighing the features and benefits of different sling straps.

The strap arrived in a nice compact box and you can tell it is quality by the way it was packed and the quality of the metal and plastic parts. Adjusting and fitting was quick and easy as was installing the grommet on the camera. I read a few reviews from people who say the connector on the camera came loose and dropped the cameras. I can only imagine they did not use the rubber washer that comes with it, they didn't tighten it properly, or they were wearing it while bouncing on a pogo stick or riding a skate board on a half pipe. After I hand-tightened it to the camera my wife was unable to remove it without using the carabiner as a lever. I can't imagine it coming loose in any reasonable situation.

This is the "sport" model with the extra strap that runs under your arm pit. I was concerned that this would be uncomfortable but you hardly notice the strap and the extra security is comforting. It adjusts quickly which makes sharing this with my wife on walks a quick transition. If you aren't use to having your camera hanging on your side it takes some time to feel confident that the camera isn't going to fall off or bang against things around you. The buckles that limit the movement of the camera are easy to adjust on the fly. These buckles allow you to position the camera in different spots depending on your situation and needs. Pulling the top buckle down towards your hip keeps the camera from racing towards your chin if you are bending over to tie your shoe or something. This is a nice feature.

The sling is easy to wear, and functions great. To be honest, I was worried about having my 4000$+ worth of camera hanging upside down from one attachment point. however, The mounting screw and the clip are all pretty darn solid. Rather nifty, Wish I ordered an extra screw for my other cameras.

After that though, everything else feels cheap.

The materials for the strap are thin and don't seem like they would take too much friction or abuse. (2 things my slings get a lot of)

The stitching seems like its just enough. I wish however, that it was super overkill, I mean this is holding up 4000$+ of equipment.

The buckle is nothing durable, its a cheap ABS snap. Will replace that with a much stronger snap.

Wish I had ordered just the Screw mount and the Clip. Could have used my extra actual Rifle sling which is much, much stronger.

I am a Combat Camera currently deployed so this will get some abuse. I'll update later with further/revised impressions.

Cons: not worth the price (build quality does not reflect price, cheap straps and snaps)
Pros: screw mount is actually awesome. Order just those and get some strap from a craft store that is much stronger or use a Rifle sling.
comfy

Originally, I was torn between getting the RS-Sport original vs the RS-Sport 2 "slim". I'm glad I stuck with RS-Sport 2 slim. It's lower in profile and has enough length to adjust the camera by my hips. I'm 5'7", medium build, so it's a great fit.

I shoot with a Canon 6d, attached to a heavy Canon 24-70 2.8L II lens. The shoulder strap has plenty of cushion and the weight of the camera gets distributed to my hips. So far, I've gone on all-day hikes and haven't really noticed any discomfort.

The only time this strap wasn't as handy was when I had to climb up rocks. Since my camera is heavy, it was hard to secure the camera tight against my body while climbing up. Even with the Brad strap, the camera dangled a bit. I guess that's why it's called a sling.

But all in all, it's a 100 times better than the factory straps the camera comes with. I'm happy with the quality and build of this sling.
